It's fine you guys. I just wanted to know if anyone wanted to hunt ICly. I have my own wolves in my pack that can fill in otherwise! And yes, I would say adols can train to hunt/patrol/scout/heal. |

For sure. I think a character unconnected to the packs would be fun. Also, in terms of NPCs, I think a good way to do it is to have someone mention they want to do the encounter in this thread, and introduce the NPC in their post (for example, if we were in the dreamlands and a lunar creature attacked), and then that person would RP the NPC briefly, the way a GM might. You'd just have to be fair to all players in a fight or something. As an example: Player 1 would ask, is it ok if I have us be attacked by an owl in my next post. The others in that scene would agree or not, and if they agree then P1 would write the owl attack in their post, have their character react, and the others would have their characters react in their own posts, and then P1 would write the owl's next move, until the scene is resolved. Depending on how encounters go P1 might get attached wind up with a new oc. xD Speaking of, I don't want to complicate things, but I'm certainly open to people having recurring "side" characters who are coyotes, birds, racoons, bears, etc. I think it'd be fun to populate the world with NPCs. We can think about that for later, or future threads! |

Also, Adept, does Dances have a crush on Yarrow? That's really cute, I love it. Yarrow's lore is that she used to be bonded to Umbra (my most gorgeous NBW find and father of many a pretty wolf! RIP!) but he's died ofc, and she's no longer on a pair bond cooldown, so to speak. ;0 We should def have a scene of them together sometime, maybe after the pack leader meeting.

*nods* That battle system sounds like it would be nice for group rp scenes. I know it might seem obvious, but if your wolf is in a solo fight with an NPC, I think its fine to just jump right into that in a post. And if other players want to send their wolves to help, they can ask OOCly here. If someone else is playing the wolf/NPC creature you're fighting, it might be nice to give a heads up of what injuries you're willing to take in the post, like this: "Rue was stunned by the sudden appearance of the Charged Bear... End Post. (I would be okay with Rue being moderately injured but no eye or ear loss at this time)" That way we don't have much back and forth to this thread! I'd write something more like: |

Yeah, that all makes sense! And this system can be used for things other than battle, too, of course, if someone wanted to shake things up by introducing a talkative raccoon or tasty-looking grouse. :) |

I'm pretty lax with players introducing NPC's and stuff. I'm not quite sure about them asking every time, but if it prevents scenes from getting stalled too long or too far from the plot, that would be fine I guess :) |

Maybe we should allow for people to just introduce at will, then, and if the other players aren't into it they can say so in this thread? That might be more efficient - and keep everyone on their toes a bit. I find a little unexpectedness can be a lot of fun in a rp. |

That sounds super fun! I think a little on-your-toes action would be cool, wolvden needs its NPCs after all! We need our sly ripoff Raccoon and some Grouse building a house. As for Fang, he will be a wanderer! I'll have him pop up mysteriously when he is needed most, and when anyone calls for him, he may or may not appear. |

It's occured to me that at this rate Bone and Blood aren't very likely to join Rapid Evening Pack at all lol. Would Dances perhaps be able to help with that? I'm sure they look muddy and rather terrible right now. Maybe insist that they at least stay the night and meet Druid? Also I'm sure a description of how the surrounding territories look would help dissuade them from going to search for their own pack. If nothing around them sounds familiar, they'll realize how hopeless it would be trying to get back, seeing as they are still pups. |

I think I can make that work! Dances is sympathetic to them, and it would make IC sense for him to nudge things a certain direction. I have no doubt Badger would support him as well. |
