ARTWORK BY ICYSKIIES #13524 « BASICS » Clan - PeakClan Mentor: Crowhop (deceased) Apprentices: Snowspot (adoptable), Owleyes (adoptable), open Orientation: Demiromantic demisexual Bearheart, well...he's a cat who is exceptionally comfortable in his own skin, and perhaps likes himself a little too much. The tom practically exudes confidence wherever he goes, leading an excitable lifestyle. He's a capable cat in seemingly whatever task he takes up, mostly because he's excellent at portraying himself as perfect and so confident that he can convince just about everyone that he's "great at this and that". After all, he's obnoxiously proud of himself and his own accomplishments. He can seem childish in this manner, and won't hesitate to speak his mind when he feels as if his words are being ignored. Let it be known that his mind will be spoken and he'll do so freely. He's not a particularly professional character, speaking and acting in a nonchalant fashion that treats just about everyone as an equal. That being said, the tom can be a fun and desirable mentor, but don't think he's so lax in his training methods. While his fur may be messy, Bearheart is an obnoxious perfectionist. You will get your training down to a tee, and it'll be perfect: it's Bearheart's way, or the highway. He won't settle for anything less. He may portray himself as a fun guy, but he's strict in his lessons. When push comes to shove, he isn't going to joke around, and so it seems that the tom can turn on a dime. If he feels that the situation is urgent- buckle up, kid, and straighten up. You better listen and listen well, because he is not going to tell you twice. Bearheart does have his tender moments outside of duty. His boyish personality can come off as quite charming, and he won't hesitate to utter a sweet word or two- it's mostly meaningless, it helps inflate his own ego. While he is completely and totally full of himself, he is still thoughtful of his clanmates. If a paw is needed, or if someone needs fresh kill more than he does, he won't hesitate to give things away to those in need. However, this seems to apply strictly to PeakClan- the tom is horribly defensive when it comes to outsiders. And it was. Bearkit was their first born, a tom kit too massive for his mother to safely deliver. She was on the brink of death when he was finally brought into the world, an effort that nearly killed the kitten as well. But his littermate was not spared- the stress and longevity of Vixenbite's kitting resulted in the death of young Pebblekit. Not long later, the queen followed in suit, guiding her stillborn kitten to rest in the starry heavens. Sprucefang was at a loss, but treasured his only survivor: Bearkit, his son, named after his hulking size and determination to survive. They had a strong father-son bond, and before long, the senior warrior was selected as deputy. It strained their relationship for short term, with Bearkit's only life role-model now busy with an added duty. But eventually, Bearkit forgave his father and their bond strengthened once more. He trained hard, ambitious to become a great warrior apprentice. He became somewhat self-absorbed after some of his fellow apprentices commented on his battle skills. This "period of arrogance" turned out to not be a period at all- the pride stuck with Bearpaw. He became obsessed with perfecting battle skills and showing off to his fellow apprentice. His father stepped down from deputyship after Bearpaw became a warrior: Bearheart, in honor of his courage after he participated in his first border skirmish. Sprucefang was proud of what his son had become, but his time as a warrior would not last. Several moons after becoming a warrior, Bearheart and Sprucefang were out on patrol with a few other warriors. There was a badger that would not relent- it would not be driven off, and had taken the life of a few kits as well as a warrior. It needed to go. Sprucefang warned his son of the creature's raw power, but Bearheart would not relent. One of the warriors died on the patrol, and Sprucefang was cornered. He would be next. Except, Bearheart summoned all of his strength, and finally willed the badger off their territory. That was, not without a nearly fatal wound to his side, one that had bled vigorously until they finally arrived in camp. Sprucefang retired, and Bearheart became a widely-celebrated warrior for his valiance and willingness to lay down his life to protect his fellow PeakClan warriors. He produced two fine warriors as a mentor: Snowspot, and later Owleyes. Perhaps he was a clumsy hunter at best, but when it came to "large" prey...well, Bearheart could put up a very fair fight. With a bit of raw power and elbow grease, he was confident that he could accomplish anything. That was, until the aging medicine cat had a sign, and crushed all of his dreams. StarClan demanded that Bearheart be their next medicine cat. No- not some silly apprentice, but their treasured badger-chaser. For some time, he held out. The medicine cat continued to drive the importance of StarClan's message into Bearheart's skull. To go against StarClan's word would mean for unimaginable punishment. It was destiny- and he could not outrun fate. He had to answer their call. That threat was enough to make Bearheart relent. He bitterly left the warrior life behind, for the time being. As of a week ago, the previous medicine cat succumbed to old age, leaving Bearheart in his place. While he holds the medical position, he is still clumsy and frequently continues to juggle both warrior and herbalist duties. |

main page (proof of "free use") -- more proof Name - Leafstar Niece: Stormpaw (living) Nephew: Boulderpaw (living) He may give off major disorganized energy, but Leafstar's the type of guy to get the job done. Granted, he's insensitive and struggles to make emotional bonds with other cats, especially after the suspicious death of his brother. He seems to enjoy work more than he does socializing with others and making bonds, although he does try his best to form relationships with his clanmates. Nonetheless, it isn't his greatest priority, with the weight of war on his shoulders. He's a matured cat with little time for humor, although he is tolerating (he just doesn't "get it" half of the time). Leafstar has patience, especially with his clanmates, but he's charmless and seemingly robotic in the way that he acts. Troubling times have washed away most of his empathy. Everything now is business, and business alone. ...Disorganized business, but business nonetheless. If only his clanmates knew that he actually despised his position as leader, and pines for being a warrior once again, where the stress of his entire clan didn't rest on his shoulders. But there's no admitting this, not anytime soon. Leafstar isn't one for chatting about personal problems. He earned the warrior name "Leafstep", in honor of his hunting skills. He was a quiet warrior, but happy with what he'd become. He enjoyed being able to take up responsibility without sticking out like a sore thumb, or having all of the clan depending on him. It was about a year later when Frogjump was selected as the clan's new deputy. Leafstep was proud of his brother, but he certainly didn't envy him. His new role seemed exceptionally time-consuming and stressful. While his sister took up a mate and his parents pressured him to do the same, Leafstep instead focused on his duties. He dissolved into the background noise of the clan, defending the border viciously but never quite making an outstanding name for himself. Nonetheless he was recognized among the hardy and dutiful warriors as a reliable cat. They respected him. They even concluded that he'd make a good deputy. Leafstep? He didn't agree with that statement. It wasn't long before Frogjump was suddenly killed in combat when out on patrol with Leafstep and several other warriors. They were unceratin of how it happened, but one thing or another lead to Leafstep's siblings blaming him for the death of their sibling. Leafstep was outraged that they'd think he'd be responsible- out of jealousy? Him? He had idolized Frogstep, but he never wanted to be deputy. And then he was chosen. Leafstep was pressured into accepting the new role, leading his family to break off contact with him out of dismay. But the senior warriors encouraged him on. Leafstep debated on stepping down- he was young, and he just wanted to be a wallflower again. He liked responsibility and busying himself with duties, but this? It was too much. He didn't have a choice when Maplestar suddenly passed on, leaving him to be the old tom's successor. Leafstar has served throughout the moons in bitter silence, regretting his acceptance of the role. He is unhappy with the pressure, but he wistfully continues knowing that it's in the best interest of OakClan. Leafstar's maintained a diplomatic leadership, keeping OakClan as silent as he is. It's best to be closed off. Nonetheless, he's managed to lose lives over the moons by defending the border from predators and LakeClan alike, given their recent disputes. |

« BASICS » Eveningpaw is an ambitious, dutiful feline, who dreams of one day becoming a Clan deputy or leader. She has often heard the phrase "keep your head out of the clouds" because of her ambition, and has a quiet personality though she also has an extroverted, bossy side of her. She trains hard, always begging her mentors for more training or tasks to hone her skills more. She also trains secretly whenever she can, sneaking out of camp to hunt fresh-kill and practice running, jumping and climbing.
