Search by generation/lineage and carrier status

Posted 2021-05-25 05:28:52 (edited)

Support! Especially Rusty's suggestion, allowing us the option to exclude certain names in lineages...I can't go an entire page in TC without finding a wolf related to Micheal or Sunfall or something >.>

Wow, it would be very useful if you could search

In sales, by Carrier studies (Albino, Melanino and Branquicephalic) by NBW wolves and research by generation

In the Den search engine of wolves by base, sex, etc, the same has in sales would help a lot too!!!

In the sales it would definitely be helpful. I see so many that are mis-labeled. They say gen 2, but then I look and one parent is off the page. That is not gen 2. I could weed out those, and it would certainly help new players who may not know and just be going off what the ad says.

I spend so much time hunting for NBW or gen 2 both in sales and studs. A filter would be so awesome.

Support! I think they've been reluctant to make lineage matter (I recently saw a trade mislabeled G2 when her lineage was actually very long and full of inbreeding, but when I reported it as false advertising they said they didn't deal with things like that), but I'm not sure why— so many of us care about keeping the heritages neat and I don't see why it can't be something people breed for just like stats or markings. Realistically, wolves would avoid breeding with their close relatives, so it actually makes sense in that way as well to make it part of the game. Since heritage-breeding is so common and popular, new players already get confused by it, so it makes sense for the admins to just accept this is part of the game so they have the authority to monitor false trades. Plus, it would be super convenient, as everyone's said haha

Big support!

I personally hate having to scour through studs just to look for the generation I want. Some people put it in their wolves' name or subtitle which is great, but not everyone does... a search feature would make stud-searching (and TC scouring) a breeze :D

And like other people have said, it'd weed out people who are falsely advertising pups in the Trading Center, whether it's to trick people into buying their pups or they're unaware of how generations work... It'd just make it easier for those of us who care.

EDIT: I hope you don't mind that I bump this daily LOL I REALLY need this to be a thing

Posting the same reply I used in another suggestion since it fits this feature suggestion more:

100% Support this!! Alot of wolves I wanna breed with generation wise, are normally carriers and it's such a pain searching for them if they aren't posted in the stud section of the Stockpile chatter area

I'm surprised this isn't a thing yet! Just like how we have No heritage wolves in leaderboards, we should be able to find NBW wolves in search! I chase a lot of wolves and I try to track them down to see if they were found later. This simple tool would help a lot!

I understand that the multi-gen search might be tricky developing. But if we could start with finding No heritage wolves in search, that would help a lot of players so much!

HUGE support! Since carrier status are gens are now officially recognized (!!!!!) And visible to everyone, it would be so helpful if we could narrow down our wolf searches by these categories. Currently it's a huge hassle to find an unrelated mutie carrier so this would eliminate so much tedium and busywork!

Support but I'd probably just make it like the other functions where you do:

Minimum / Maximum / Exactly and then type the number

(Just for simplication)
