I'm planning to stick to clean breeding! The intent to keep away from lioden terminology on here is confusing me though, I don't understand why people are using 'NIB' as in 'nib' with an i to mean Not Line Bred... I don't see why there's any need to not use clean and dirty or inbred. It all means the same thing |

The terms have some ill will behind them for some people, particularly dirty breeders who felt forced into the clean playstyle because we essentially edged them out of the lion market. So that's why some folks are intent on changing it, or at least one reason. To each their own though. As long as people aren't giving us clean breeders grief like they did in the beginning i dont mind either way. |

I've already seen people in main chat talking about hoping that clean breeding isn't a thing here because it'll ruin the economy, and hoping that because it's harder it'll be less valuable... I am purely in it for the aesthetic heritages and the extra challenge so I don't really care if clean breeding is worth the same as dirty breeding. |

Clean breeding was never about money, at least not in the beginning. If many people from LD, a lot of the clean breeders, migrate to WD they may see their fears realized. Also, just calling clean breeding by a different name isn't going to make much of a difference. It's already here, just in it's infant stages atm. Those are maybe jilted dirty breeders. I personally don't think it "ruined" the economy and I've yet to see one person explain how it did if it did. |

I've had this argument many a time, just trying to point out that if clean breeding here is harder, it's probably going to be less common and therefore more valuable, but only time will tell. And yeah, this whole 'NIB' thing I've heard is to prevent the 'stigma' against dirty breeding that there is on LD, which I personally don't think exists, it's just against some people's preferences. Essentially clean assets fulfill everyone's requirements whereas dirty assets fulfill only people who don't mind dirty breeding, so I'd rather stick with clean! |

NIB comes with it's own stigma though. The playstyle itself is named after Non Inbred (NIB) Wolves, but that's what people presumably want (the same way Clean is called "Clean breeding" because that is what we want). As far as I can see, no one's calling it "IB" or even "NIB/IB" the same way we don't called Clean breeding "Clean/dirty breeding", just clean. The preference for Non-inbred wolves was there at the outset, with IB being labelled as the "other" presumably undesirable wolves. Funnily enough, I've already got 2 dirty blood wolves in my pack lol. I'm still deciding what to do with them! |
