☁️🌑 Darkening Sky Pack: New Storm Arising 🌑☁️

This is a forum where I'll be posting about the lore and lives of my pack. I ask that you DO NOT COMMENT ON THIS THREAD. I want to keep it clean and organize. If your reading this and are interested in my pack lore/story just PM me. I'll be happy to talk about it.

Pack History/Lore

The Darkening Sky pack started off with two wolves. Temperate and her beloved mate Jinx. The two met and went off to start their own pack and family in a deeply rich and wooded area. While doing so is when Temperate and Jinx came across friends she would hold close for many days. These wolves were Leon and Andromeda. Leon was a big, fluffy, and friendly male wolf. Though aged he was great company and loved to watch after and play with every pup born into the newly forming Darkening Sky pack. Andromeda showed a love for herbs and nature. Then more curiously she seemed to have an instinct, a knowledge of incoming weather in the area. As such she helped to heal and protect the wolves of the Darkening Sky pack. Either healing their wounds or warning them of an incoming storm.

From here the pack only grew and prospered. With Temperate now leading a successful and sufficient pack. With more members joining and helping the cause. Starting with Ash. Who not only became a respected and phenomenal hunter but a beloved mate of Andromeda. Though, tragedy would have to strike at some point. This was when jinx got unfortunately killed by a roaring black bear while patroling the new Darkening Sky territory. 

The loss of her mate hit Temperate hard. Though life had to move on and the pack was prospering. Now with Ash teaching newly made pack members the art of hunting and Jinx's daughter(whom still decided to stay with the pack) showing her own great ability of scouting. If it wasn't for Leon being the kind soul and friend Temperate desperately needed, who knows where Temperate's mind would have been.

This was just the beginning of the pack's story...

The Darkening Sky pack is nestled in the heart of their rich forest home. Their camp is organized as the following

The Darkness den includes...

Scouter's Peak- A mound of dirt with leaves and bushes around/on it. Where the scouts sleep to keep watch over all of camp and outside of it. This is located on the very edge of camp.

 Moss Tree- A area underneath a large tree with moss and leaves on top of it. This is where all adult wolves without constant duties/ranks sleep. Protected by the canopy of leaves and branches above the moss and leaf-covered ground

The largest of all the rock dens in the Pup Grotto where the Pup Watcher's sleep.

The Darkening Sky pack has one other place near and dear to their hearts. A place where their ancestors go to rest in eternal slumber. A place where members are remembered for generations to come...

Temperate, the founder of the Darkening Sky Pack , has reached her life's end. Her successor is a young, skillful wolf she picked and trained herself... Skipping Stone. Under the new leadership of Skipping Stone the pack is in for a wild ride.

The Stepping Stone’s of the Sky

1. The Leader’s word is law, disobedience will lead to severe punishment
   
   
2. All pack positions are filled by the leader. No wolf can make their own rank decision
   
   
3. All wolves old enough to fill a pack rank must rise by Dawnlight
   
   
4. Newborn pups must go one night unprotected by the Pupwatchers
   
   
5. Young pups must pass a brief trial in order to stay in the pack. All pups who fail the trial are exiled
   
   
6. Loners that wish to join must pass a trial. All you failed are scared by the tail tip and are never allowed to step on pack land
   
   
7. Trials given to wolves are chosen solely by the leader of the pack
   
   
8. Every wolf trial must vary for each individual wolf
   
   
9. Every full moon a rank bearing wolf must battle with the leader of the pack until the leader or the rank bearing wolf submits to the other
   
   
10. Those who submit to the leader on a full moon battle will receive a long-lasting scar and be thrown out of camp for 3 days

Year 8 - Winter - Sunrise: The start of a new era

The sun had just begun to rise over the horizon as Skipping Stone awoke. The harsh rays of light penetrating through the Moss Tree canopy. Waking up some of her sleeping packmates as well. Only taking a moment to shake out her coat Skipping Stone rose to her paws. Confidently, happily, and proudly strutting to the leader's burrow. Where her mentor and leader slept, this was her routine every day. Go great, Temperate and then train. She quite liked the strict regime and harsh training. In fact, she wished some of her lazy packmates would do the same. As she got closer and closer to the leader's burrow Skipping Stone felt uneased. Then, what she discovered inside the leader's burrow justified her feelings...

Skipping Stone rushed into the middle of the camp. Let out a loud, crips howl as she did.

First, it was the scouts, then hunters, then pupwatchers that came bounding to her side. Ebony, her mother, pushed through the gathering crowd of wolves to get to Skipping Stone. "What's all this commotion about in the morning light?" Ebony looked at her daughter with a confused, softened gaze. On one paw, Skipping Stone felt at a loss for words. Not really knowing what she should do. However, Temperate trained her for this da and she couldn't be more thrilled to finally take control. Fix the pack.

"Temperate has..." Skipping Stone began to respond. Broadcasting her voice so all the pack could hear. "Passed away... it was her time I'm afraid," Skipping Stone bowed her head and listened to the howls of shock. "Though she has trained me for this day and I shall not let her down. I, Skipping Stone, will now step up as leader of the Darkening Sky Pack!" Skipping Stone howled. Her voice echoing off the trees. "With this sudden shift in power I shall not make any announcements today, but know that by the new dawn of tomorrow, things will be changing around here." Skipping Stone gave her packmates a solemn look before turning back towards the leader's burrow. Following Twist's and Smoke's tails. She had tried her best to hide it but she couldn't be more excited to finally take over the pack. She knows the pack needed time to process everything occurring, but soon she will set everything straight.
