I've looked through the other topics on this and never quite found the info I was searching for... Can someone help? I'm still a couple weeks out before I can do the pair bonding quest, but I would like to be prepared... 1. Is there a limit on how many pairs you can have? 2. Is there a waiting period between creating pairs? 3. What qualities must a wolf possess to make it eligible to be bonded? Just be an adult, or...? 4. Are any items or currency needed to create a bond? 5. Can pair bonds breed each other, or can they only adopt? 6. Are there any disadvantages to having pair bonds? I think that's all for right now. Being new, I'm trying to stay within my means and not ruin myself financially while figuring out this game and exactly what I want, so I'm wanting to breed a few generations of wolves within my pack before investing in studs and lined wolves. If pair bonding is what I believe it to be, this will allow that without me risking inbreeding. Thank you to anyone who helps! |

Let's see. 1. IIRC, there is no limit in how many pairs you can have but you can only breed a certain number of pairs each month and that number depends on your terriory size. So you can have, let's say, 100 pairs, but maybe you can only breed 3 of them each month. 2. No, you can create the pairs right away. But if you broke a pair, the wolves go on a 30 days cooldown and they can't be in another pair until the cooldown is over. 3. Must be an adult and having been in your pack for 7 rollovers 4. No, you just have to go on the pair tab and create them. 5. Pairs can breed to each other (they exist exactly for that reason) and a female in a pair bond can still breed to your breeding male or an external stud. The advantage of being in a pair is that she can breed also to another male other than a stud/breeding male (and that is her partner). Wolves in a same sex pairs can't breed to each other (but females can breed to studs and breeding males) 6. Not that I know. You can pair bond all of your wolves if you want or none at all and nothing changes in terms of gameplay. The only one I can think of is that when one of the mates dies, the other one lose all of their mood (but you can raise it again with toys). By creating a pair bond you can adopt pups from the enclave and you get a bit more of freedom when breeding, since your female can breed to a male that is not a stud or breeding male. EDIT: adding this screenshot of the info on the pair bonding page |
