Felix lifted his head " Gaelan?"  he mumbled " Is everything alright?" but he knew  he wasn't alright. he sighed and carefully got up before walking to Gaelan. " wanna maybe talk about it? If its something private, its ok if you dont  want to tell me. I already have my hands full I guess with worrying about Rhode, Ruby and the little ones on the way. But you know Im always open to talk."

he rested his hand on his shoulder  and  gave a slight smile " You know im here for you and the others. Im here to protect you no matter what is going on. You are like family to me."

He eyed Ruby and Rhode again before sitting down, his eyes away from the tv. His eyes stayed on Gaelan in case a chat was needed. 

"Someone should know the truth. Why I came back..." He took a deep breath in and let it out uneasy. "I came back because I couldn't let Ruby go the same way my wife did. She had the same thing happen to her. I couldn't save her on my own..." he paused with a whine. "I--I couldn't let Ruby go the same way my wife did...."

Felix felt upset. Gaelan.. Im so  sorry. My mate didnt have that but she died at the hands of crows and his men. So I know what it feels like to loose someone you love."

"I didn't know you had a second chance with Ruby." Gaelan lowered his gaze. "I'm sorry you lost your first, Felix." 

Felix eyed Gaelan "Hey, Gaelan.. its ok. I was even more surprised when I had a dream come to, me recently telling me that jewel was five months pregnant during the war. She fought while she was pregnant, Gaelan. But I lost her. And I was totally heartbroken for years until I was given a second chance. And I'm happy I found Ruby. She means everything to me. Just like you and everyone else I have met."

The talk between them was  quiet and peaceful, but it ended soon after when a stir was heard behind me. 

I stirred and mumbled, "Felix..." my eyes finally opened after four days. They were dark grey, but it was still me. I tried to get up, but my body wouldn't let me. I was so sore and weak.

Felix heart raced " Ruby?"  he asked turning around. " ruby!" he  said  hugging her " oh darlin...Gaelan, she's awake!" his eyes never left the dark grey ones. " Do you have any idea how long I have stayed up for you, Ruby? I didn't even sleep a wink because of what happened. I just couldn't. " 

he reminded her to stay calm and still " don't move alright? I know it hurts, but you have to listen to me. I'm gonna be here beside you, along with Rhode. who is still asleep" he chuckled stroking his hair gently.  His other hand grazing Ruby's jawline with a bright smile on his face. 

(Oh my god im tearing up!!!!! 😭😭😭)

"What happened?" I whined. My eyes looked past Felix for a second and I saw Gaelan. "G--Gaelan?"

"Yeah...it's been...too long, Alpha...." He gave a soft smile.

My eyes went back to Felix, "F--Felix, what happened to me? W--why can't I m--move?" I began to panic.

(Good)

Felix held her down gently " Ruby Harlow. Listen to me. you had something in you that is causing you to move. And Rhodes dad and Gaelan here took it out. Everything is fine, Ruby. Just relax and heal yourself before you ask any more questions."

He then looked over at Gaelan. " I can handle things from here, Gaelan. Thank you for everything. I dont know what I would have done without  your help.  And as always, you are welcome to stay any time. 

 Ruby, its ok. But whatever you had going on between yourself and Gaelan... we can talk about it when you are healed and restored to full health. Right now you need to rest.

"I um...actually have no where to stay....are you alright if I stay for a while longer?" Gaelan asked, scratching the back of his head. He eyed Felix, "And there has been nothing between Ruby and I. Just a loyal medic here. Promise." 

I whined and just wanted to sit up, even though I physically couldn't. Onyx was in the back of my head, trying to calm me down. "Felix...can you get me my headphones and my phone? And can you put some classical music on for me?"
