Please don't introduce humans as battle-able enemies

well this new event had added lots of new human encounters, i think? personally not a fan at all. especially don't like the very humanoid cryptids. i know this post is mostly about battling humans, but i still think humans shouldn't exist in wolvden's world. takes away a lot of the magic for me. since they're already here, i guess im okay with battling humans as i would rather my wolves be aggressive with them than not. and would even support aggressive options (on your lead wolf's end) to be added to existing encounters.
when the game released, i had my own headcanon about humans not existing, and it was easy enough to ignore the rather subtle signs of their presence. now exploring is just annoying running into them more and more. since then i wanted my territories to be placed FAR away from any human thing including the odd cabin or two and i can't even roleplay that.
but i also can't tell if most or all of the human encounters are for this event only or if they were added before. regardless, i really really hope human presence in future events is kept to a minimum.

The human encounters are for this event only.

Personally I think the encounters are well handled, with a nice dose of humor, and suit the cryptid/disaster theme. I'm still strongly opposed to battling humans, and wouldn't want to have human encounters all the time, but I'm okay with having humans for a single monthly event, especially one that's about the world going topsy-turvy.

I'm also not the hugest fan of the human encounters for this event. Just takes me out of the immersion, personally. I like the idea that humans have existed/or are around (like the cars, ships, etc), but having direct contact with them feels off.

Yeah I think most of the encounters won't be staying, the only one I wonder about is the kinda homeless looking guy. I don't remember exactly what your two choices are, I'm pretty sure one is chase (which I always do lol), but I don't like that one in particular because I have yet to receive any Cryptid Scales and instead receive Amusement items which makes me think it's not part of the event.

Either way, I'm not the fondest of any of the new human encounters and hope most of the them stay to the events / decors / backgrounds. I actually really enjoy the new Abandoned House background as it can fit nicely into my post-human lore. The biggest thing for me honestly is how ambiguous what time "we're" in, it's nice being able to seamlessly have people with lore before, during, and after humans instead of having an almost set time for the whole of Wolvden.

And I don't know how I feel though about battling them now, I think I'd rather be able to just because I'm maybe a little misanthropic, but I really just want them to stay out of the majority of the game as I still feel it sends the wrong message saying "yeah wolves can kill humans"  when it's that exact misguided fear that causes humans to kill wolves/coyotes/& even foxes and hang them on the fences. Sorry!! CW: graphic. - but this literally happens in my town so it's not a joke or some kinda fantasy to play at. People think wolves will kill them or their animals so they kill them first.
Lioden is different as lions, including Mountain Lions and most big cats, actually do this, or at least it's reported and not speculated in hunter magazines like with wolves. Might I add that I had a debate in college about this exact subject, and I was shocked by the weird, biased information my peer had about wolves only to learn that she got all her info from a hunting magazine. Killing wolves is very propagandized here, so much that, again, they even go after coyotes and foxes.

Although I assume most people playing Wolvden are also not "these type" of people sooo idk …
just please don't add too much

Grouse House lists the survivalist guy as an event encounter.

The prepper/homeless looking guy is an event encounter. One of the Cryptid quests is about meeting the human and luring him away from the specific cryptid's territory.

Thanks, that's what I figured but again it doesn't give Cryptid Scales so it just didn't seem like part of the event, and again I don't like any of the "human" encounters which includes that chucky doll / clown / many of the more anthropomorphic cryptids / etc but the post is mostly about battling vs encounters.

And Grouse House is a user made guide so although they do a really great job, they can be wrong sometimes. Also the event just started which means they're gathering data right now so the possibility of not being exact with information regarding the event could be a little greater right now… plus I didn't realize they even had anything up for the Cataclysm Event yet, it's not in the directory?? So idk where their putting any of that information right now lol but again thank so much for clearing that up!! And keep up the great work GH!

I'm aligned with Kinfolk & doing quests for the diverse Sasquatch community. I have hopes that one day they'll sling the random humans over their shoulders, tote them to a distant town, & leave them there.

Good riddance.
