Humans as 'opponents' -- What I would like to see

In the poll, they've confirmed humans as upcoming opponents in Wolvden. I'm a bit apprehensive about their addition, although undoubtedly excited as we do have the occasional macabre references to human involvement.

A big concern of mine is that human vs wolf interactions irl can be very negative. It's important for Wolvden to make sure to present humans and wolves in a positive light, as creatures who can coexist together!

If a human was a true 'opponent', I'd hope that they would be presented as 'bad' humans that are causing harm to the environment. Instead of killing them, I'd want to be able to 'drive them off', with trophy items such as fabric scraps or maybe a phone!

It would also be great to have more positive interactions, keeping in mind a wolfs shyness. Maybe a wolf stumbles upon some weird human smells, or sees a campsite to steal some food from. These wouldn't portray either side in too bad of a light, while also allowing the interaction with humans.

Of course, I'll be honest and say I don't really want humans directly in wolvden. I prefer the game to be human free, so that I can live out my wolfpack fantasy without the bothers of humans.

However, those are just my opinions/suggestions. What would y'all want to see regarding humans in Wolvden?

I semi-support. I do want humans as an opponent but know how delicate this is to other players. Wolf attacks on humans are rare but do happen so I think humans should be extremely rare battle encounters and mostly consist of poachers and maybe hunters. It doesn't take much for an animal to learn that a human with a gun is a threat to either be avoided or destroyed. 

I also think, if possible, they should be slightly more common in a pack's home biome because of the protective nature of a pack to it's pups. Many humans stupidly approach baby animals with zero regard for personal safety and injured or killed by the adults reacting with understandable aggression.

With all that said, I do really hope we get peaceful interactions more than immediately prompted to battle. Like maybe having a low chance at getting to interact with conservationists with a possibility of getting tranquilized and equiped with a radio collar that'd appear as a decor item in the hoard or even getting disease resistance for a rollover or two from them examining us while tranquilized.

I support this! Humans are a part of the natural world and we do have an impact on it, so this can be a great way to show both the positive and negative influences we as a species have on the environment and the animals within.

I personally like the idea of humans being a very small (almost nonexistent) part of Wolvden. But I think they are intended to be in the game in some way, evidenced by some puppy injury/death flavor texts and the guarding sled dogs encounters. So if the developers are planning to include humans in a bigger role, encounters like these seem like a good way to go about it.

I really don't want to be able to have potentially lethal battles with them (for reasons I mention here) so collecting trophies that are just man-made objects (and not... body parts) would be very preferable. We already have the iron scrap trophy from pherris enemies so it wouldn't be too much of a stretch. The rarity for trophies could be just about as much as getting a recipe.

I really like the idea about getting a radio collar decor item or disease immunity from one of the encounters. You could come across an abandoned campsite and like the poop encounter possibly get a disease from rummaging around in the trash, or find food scraps, or rarely a trophy. Maybe a dog toy or a ball? Or for a more negative encounter, you could come across a trap that might cause you to lose hp, or you could steal the bait and earn a meat chunk, or even get the trap as a trophy.

Plus this solves the problem of the people who don't want to interact with humans - they could simply skip the encounters and not participate in them at all.

Overall I think that if humans are going to play a larger part in Wolvden, this is a good way to go about it. Support!

I’d be okay with driving off/scaring humans - that could even be a pretty neat encounter! But I really, really don’t want to fight them directly, especially not to the death. 

Honestly if the game is set in the modern day, I’d love an encounter along the lines of a tourist getting too close to a den or somesuch and having to growl/bark/lunge to get them back off. Maybe get a cell phone or a camera as a trophy. And I like @Websteak’s idea about traps. Since there’s already an illness system, maybe the occasional poisoned carcass?

Edit: Maybe instead of decreasing the human’s hp, we have to fill up their fear meter until they get scared and run away? Or for some encounters we have to outsmart them?
