Hunters getting scars

Hunters getting scars

I know this is an idea that comes from Lioden but.... As far as I know, here in Wolvden only the lead wolf can get scars through battles as trophies and they get added to your inventory. In Lioden, hunters would sometimes get scars that would be automatically equipped to them, though you could of course remove them. I really liked this mechanic because this way you can actually see your hunters age up. You can tell which one has been hunting longer because they have more scars. It's very different from the idea of just getting a "trophy" that you equip to whoever you want and it adds a little more flavor to the game :>

This is a feature I really enjoyed in Lioden and would love to see here, too. Full support!

I've never played Lioden but it sounds like a nice feature so I support!

I like this. I have never once used a scar trophy. I just sell them because why would I choose for my precious wolves to look all scarred and be hurt? Madness. But if the game automatically applied them, I would like that much better!

Support! I was shocked when I got a scar the first few times on Lioden from my lionesses hunting, but I really like this idea, especially if you can remove it and give it to another wolf if you so desired. I had no idea you could get scars in your lead wolf, but that sounds kind of neat. I honk scars would be a lot more frequently experienced during hunting, especially since wolves lose small amounts of HP often. Perhaps each wolf that loses HP has a 1/10 chance to gain a scar, and that chance gets higher with each trail being more difficult. Biome could also play a part, and those living in rough biomes where hunting is hard could receive them more often as well.
I also think scars should be easier than battle trophies, as I think it's realistically easier to get a nasty gash that scars up than gnawing off the tail of a fox or ripping out a bear's tooth.

Huge support on this. I've longed for more wolves than just my lead to be able to earn scars on their own ever since scars were added to the game. Right now I only ever give scars to my lead because I want my wolves to earn them naturally, and I'd love for my more experienced hunters to show that experience through scars they've earned over the years. I remember hearing that there'd one day be more ways of getting scars, but sooner rather than later would be preferred. (It seems like an easy feature to add?)

Would be cool if other roles could earn scars as well, less commonly than hunters though ofc. Scouts still get hurt now and then, and it'd make sense if even an herbalist might rarely get into some trouble that gets them a scar while out foraging. Perhaps even some pup accidents could get them scars early in life?

Support all the way! I feel this missing feature big time, especially when I get a new scar decor from my lead wolf. I do the same as @SnowJackal, I only feel comfortable putting scars on my Lead because it's like their earning them in battles, but I would love for the rest of my pack to earn some scars as well. I could make up events that lead my other wolves getting scar and just slap on some scar decor on them, but much like @Katie I don't want to hurt and scar my wolves willingly. It's just not the same as getting a notification that one of your wolves were scared due to their role or a close call with an animal. I want that. It would give older more experienced wolves a cool and realistic aesthetic since there really is nothing to show for their age right now. Not to mention it would give those of us who write lore an extra something to include in our pack history and etc.

I would also love for more roles than just hunters able to earn scars naturally just as @SnowJackal had mentioned. Scouts should earn scars periodically, probably not as often as hunters, but a couple over their lifetime would be great. This could be extended to herbalists on very rare occasions and even pupsitters who need to protect pups. Pup scars would be interesting, maybe the chance of a puppy getting a scar would increase depending on their survival rate. I support the idea of them getting scars from the accidents that is already implemented in the game.

Of course all scars should be able to be unequipped for those who do not want their wolves scarred. It could work!
