Development Update #12

I still don't like bear quests, and this is my second level 20 lead. My first had ridiculous strength too.

@Lionel same with me, but I broke my chain multiple times (6 succesfull hunts in winter... in the Rainforest... multiple times xDD that was enough for me). But I understand the frustration of RNG way too much, especially with the current battling system.

My advice with trophy quest would be – either slap snake skull at the very beggining of the day OR try to fight enemies that have many trophies tied to them (like wolves or foxes, where you can get a claw, skull or tail, not just single item). Also "Keep moving forward" battles seems to be more rewarding than regular ones, but also much harder.

Yeah, their probably level 20 wolves. I generally rabbit feet them and still lose sometimes. My first lead had over 300 strength, and could handle them without feet. I gotta work on my girls strength. 200ish is to low.

@farkitsue haha, for my part I'm never doing a "keep moving forward" again unless I absolutely need it. I got absolutely destroyed the last time I tried (my lead is lv20, but she's my first one, so only okay stats). There are plenty of more manageable enemies for the trophy quest. (I heard somewhere this wolf was always 5 levels above you)
also, same, I moved to hard biomes pretty quickly where I had 0% on critters in winter, so needless to say the successful hunt quests didn't go too well :D

I usually fight "turn back wolves" because their drop rate is so high (iirc they always drop something, whether it's sc, meat, a trophy, or a stat point). But I always use a lucky foot if I lose the opening roll. Lucky foot + double bleed means I can guaranteed rest/wait until they bleed out.

Oh. Yeah, that's a compelling argument. I'll try as soon as I have lucky feet again.

I still loose them on regular basis (even with lucky feet used) but I try to battle them anyway. Maybe I don't have high enough stats yet.

If you bite till deep wound with lucky foot then wait you win most of battles against level 25 wolves regardless of stats assuming you fail to get the starting modifier. With successful starting modifier it's even easier.

@Dzanek They're considered level 25? Dang, no wonder they're so hard. I just figured they were level 20.

After giving it a few days to settle, I've decided I like the new questing system a lot.

- There's variety. Variety is fun! I'm excited each morning to pick up my quests and see what I get, which I never was before.

- I'm having fun doing things I wouldn't normally do. For instance, I hadn't touched fishing in a month, but I got a fishing quest and got really into it and made fishing LB for the day.

- Since there are three quests, I can feel free to pick and choose. There are definitely quests I wouldn't want to do (e.g., "enclave a pup" when all my pups are keepers, or "breed a wolf" when breeding now would interfere with my future breeding plans). But it's not a huge deal, I can just do the others and still earn daily income.

- Of course, if I want to make questing leaderboard I'll have to do everything...but that's okay with me too, it's a leaderboard, it's not meant to be easy.
