Change Hunt Quests

So yes I really wish the quests would take into account your biome & wolves' capabilities or something like that so the quest was doable. ;n; |

Complete 3 hunts. Bam, it doesn't matter which trail or if you are even successful, only that you even hunt much at all that day. I also agree that on medium or hard quest modifiers, sometimes it is too much to ask for a specific trail size. Like OP, someone may want to focus on their better teams or even not have a team capable of scenting certain trail sizes. It may also be possible that a medium or hard could be succeeding at a few (2? 3?) hunts. Though, I am still uncertain how we should set the difficulty bar. It stands to reason most people would prefer to treat these quests almost as if they are guaranteed sources of income and tend to become... disillusioned or perhaps frustrated or disappointed when they simply can not complete it. Forgive me if this does not match you or your experience. |

It stands to reason most people would prefer to treat these quests almost as if they are guaranteed sources of income and tend to become... disillusioned or perhaps frustrated or disappointed when they simply can not complete it. The new questing system is certainly a lot more difficult than the old one (which I think is contrary to the devs' intent, based on what they said in the update). Under the old system, I never had any trouble completing my daily quests except once as a brand new player when I got a "kill x bears" quest and opted to skip it. Under the new system, I've already skipped a number of quests: (1) "enclave a pup" quest when I didn't want to enclave any of my weaned pups (2) "collect 2 trophies" quest when I just couldn't get trophies to drop that day (3) "collect 2 trophies" quest right after the lunar event when I was short on healing salves/lucky feet and opted not to do it And there are multiple other quests I might not want or be able to complete depending on circumstances (e.g., the hunt quests that are the subject of this topic, if I ever decide to move to a more difficult biome). I'm not super fussed about this - the income loss is minor, and since I've skipped a quest I figure that puts me out of leaderboard contention forever, so I don't have to stress about it. But it does run counter to the devs' stated goal of making questing "a fairly reliable way to earn some Silver Cones and EXP." |

I think part of the problem stems from not only them being impossible at times to complete, but if they are compared to some of the other quests they are definitely skewed. Submitting up to 4 fish in the fishing game is a pretty easy goal compared to completing hunt quest for trails your hunters rarely or never find. I agree that if the goal is to provide a reliable income, the quests should at least be possible without a biome change. While yes, the income loss for missing a quest here or there is not a big issue (though some may really rely on it if they have a large pack they buy food and/or amusement for), I feel like this is a balancing issue. It may just be my play style--maybe the quests I find easy are ones others find hard. But I do not feel as though the intention of changing quests was to make some of them very difficult (or impossible) to complete. |

I realize mine was a very specific situation... but surely I'm not the only one who would starve their wolves and sell their own soul for just a little bit more exp? |
