I like to feed my wolves from their individual pages because of how the food is sorted (least days remaining by and uses). I sell all of my 1 day left food to the raccoon. I then go to individual pages and feed the 2 days left food until my pack is full. It's a repeating cycle that's made me some nice profits. The only benefit that processing food would give me is drop loot. Of course, my style isn't the same as everyone else. But everyone else should be concerned with quest items. I'd rather have a wide range of items available to give to the snake instead of having to gather / purchase before my quest expires. My own idea: I do item hop for amusement items. It'd be a lot faster if a "use all" button was added to items in a stack. "Use all" would drain the selected item of its uses. It could prioritize wolves the same way the current "use item" button does. |

Firstly, if it was implemented, I would suggest calling it something other than "Processing". Processing sounds mechanical to me, and makes it seem like the meat we will be feeding our wolves is "artificial" in a sense, like it was processed in a factory. A couple terms that may fit better could be "Preparing/Preparation" or "Rationing". I'm also not sure I enjoy the idea of actual carcass and toy items being rendered useless. I personally enjoy giving my wolves a variety of items -- feeding my wolves a generic "Meat" and giving them generic "Toys" is unappealing to me. Plus, there's the inevitable confusion of someone wondering why they can't feed their wolf a carcass even though it's a carcass made of meat. To combat that point, I would suggest making all food and amusement items still usable. So, players who want to feed their wolves carcasses can do so, and players who want to feed their wolves from one stack of meat can also do so. FAPA would still use only processed items. If the player didn't have any processed items in their hoard for FAPA to use, it would just ignore normal carcasses and not feed all of their wolves. The only concern I could see with this is players who process food having an advantage over players who don't like to if processing were to drop items. Perhaps it could be the actual feeding that has the chance to drop items, as in you feed your wolf either a meat chunk or a carcass and have the chance to get a bone, a pelt, etc. I also want to emphasize the point that there will need to be a feature that allows you to leave one use of whatever you're processing. Many people collect one use of amusement items, and not being able to do that anymore will drive people away from processing amusement items altogether. All of the other FAPA changes sound great, I love the idea of it being a passive perk. With a passive nature, though, warnings should be added to make it very clear if the player does not have enough processed food or toys to feed their whole pack. Overall, the change seems like it might be a little overwhelming/complicated and I'm torn about it. Even though the step of clicking "Feed All" or "Play All" will be removed, another step for FAPA will be added where players must select which items to process which could be even more of a task than just having FAPA use normal items from your hoard. It will also take a significantly longer amount of time than just clicking a button. Processing is a good idea in concept; letting players feed all of their wolves from one stack seems good! It just seems unnecessary to me. A better option could be a new menu in your hoard that would allow you to feed and play with your wolves from one place. It could show you how many uses of food and toys you have in your hoard and what items you have, let you select in a dropdown menu which items to use, and then feed wolves with a click of one button. Another option could be a simple "Feed from stack". This seems like it would be especially useful due to how many of one kind of carcass players tend to collect from hunting. For example, I have mostly Elk Bull carcasses and being able to feed my wolves from a stack of those carcasses instead of having to click on each carcass individually seems like it would be easier to understand and implement. |

Scratch that. If we do this, can food and toy bundles produce food and toys rather than carcasses and items? Just a thought. |
