This would benefit both those wishing to set a Mentor up for lease, and those seeking to get their puppies trained. Not everyone will have Mentors of the relevant stats, or of enough stats. This would also help SC move around between players, depending pricing choices. Setting a Mentor up for Lease There are probable several different approaches that could be taken to setting up a Mentor for lease. Here's one possibility. When a wolf has the Mentor role, there is a new tab called Mentoring. In this tab, you can choose to put up the Mentor for public lease. Here's a quick mockup of what this could look like. Searching for Lease Mentors This is trickier. I can see two different ways about this - using the Search tool. Visually at it's simplest it could be a checkbox, like so: Alternatively, Mentors up for lease could be searched for from within the puppy training interface, by adding a new relevant tab. Note: I am unsure where and how incoming and outgoing Lease requests should be presented, but they could be tabs in the Puppy Training interface much like incoming and outgoing stud requests are for studding. Puppy Training via Leasing Puppy training via Leasing could follow similar logic to studding requests. Player sends the leasing request to a Mentor wolf of their choice, choosing which stat and which lesson length they are looking for. The Mentor owner will get a message that there is a pending request, and can then accept or decline. Lease Mentoring should probably take the same amount of energy as mentoring in-pack. This naturally decreases how often a Mentor wolf can be leased out. Note: Possible toggle to exclude Mentors currently teaching puppies? As training puppies is more time sensitive, search results should probably exclude wolves from packs that have not rolled over in 2 days or more. Leased training would best serve players if it ended automatically, so that casual players who cannot log very often do not need to worry about manually finishing Lease training or energy regain. Note: Fallback mechanisms for when a pup ages before the Lease Mentor can train it, for the Lease Mentor being removed from the role, or it dying, should probably be considered. Pricing Gameplay-wise, I can see two pricing options being major considerations: Always fixed price - players do not get to manually choose Mentor Lease pricing. Similar in function to Enclave and Adoption. Reduces player agency and disables market fluctuations from leasing. Player set prices - Players get to choose what pricing they want for their Lease Mentors. Allows for market fluctuation and increased player agency. Other pricing considerations: whether or not GC should be an option for Mentor Leasing. whether or not pricing/pricing range should be tied to relevant stats for requested training. Should pricing be different for each time tier (1 hour lesson vs 2 hour lesson) Should price be per pup, or in bulk Please let me know what you think, and if you have any critique/ideas! Sounds like a good idea! Sometimes you just don't have a mentor with the right stats and if you have a super valueable pup, you may not really want to give it away to someone to train. In addition, maybe being able to set your mentor to public only in one lesson, for example str. So if you wanna push str on your wolf, this would benefit both sides! Definetly upvoting.

Oooh, didn't even think of the stat specific one, yeah. Though chances are if you have Very Clearly Strong woof, it gets more Strength requests than anything else.

Personally I'd like there to be an auto-accept feature, so I don't have to constantly check if there's something to approve. It's after all more likely to happen than for breeding.

Support! My mentors sit around doing nothing 90% of the time. I've thought about starting a pup training service, but it seems cumbersome having to make a topic, having people transfer their pups, etc. An official site feature would make things a lot easier.

And conversely, I'd love this feature for when I have hunter pups to train and no available wolves with sufficient stats in the right roles. I'd be happy to pay someone else to train my pups in speed.

Support! Today I realized my lovely, well statted pups I wanted to sell fully trained, would not be able to get the full training bonus with the wolves I had in my pack. I would have to either break up a hunting party or buy a wolf- but there were none with high enough stats in the trading center except for a very expensive mela. Somebody was gracious enough to train them AND I did receive them back; but I realize this would be dangerous to do more often. Having a service for, maybe, 50 sc as a flat rate and a cap of say, 5 training sessions per day or a limit similar to stud wolves per week would be awesome.

Support! I have so much trouble trying to get max stat boosts for pups that are very high in certain stats (mainly wisdom/smarts) bc my mentors are rarely former stalkers or finishers. Being able to outsource a teacher would be super helpful! It would also take the risk out of pup training services, bc otherwise they operate on trust/honor policy.

Support!! For a while I didn't have any wolves of age to become mentors, and I didn't want to buy an old wolf just for that, so having been able to lease a mentor from someone else would have been incredibly helpful

I also agree with Katie, anything that adds to more player interaction is a fun thing

I recall a few times were i barely had proper wolves to train pups and even if i didn't have the issue, i Love giving my wolves something to do and help others with an issue like this cuz it does suck when you just can't find the help you need at the time. I'd love to use a feature like this ~
