The Sentry Guard Party Suggestion
Intro: I have seen some players talking that there isn't enough ways to gain exp for their wolves for hunting and scouting. So I was thinking of this possible idea about having a new position for wolves, the Sentry Guard.

What is a Sentry Wolf: A Sentry is a wolf that specifically travels through the the discovered biomes defending the territory from animals. They can not access any biomes that the scouts have not discovered. Their main feature is to interact with possible threats and chase them out or fight them if necessary. In return they can get battle trophies, exp, items/food, and stats increase. Their personality and stats, and will play a part of how they interact with the animals they encounter.

Personalities
Intro:

Aggressive Personalities - Tends to get into more battles with the animals and gain battle trophies. They often get stat increases in Strength and Agility.

Friendly Personalities -  They are often friendly and respectful toward the animals they encounter. In return, the animals can give them pieces of food and other small items (rocks, bones, etc). They can gain stats in Smarts and Speed.

Romantic Personalities - Like the friendly wolves they are often nice to the animals they encounter. They can bring back nesting materials (feathers and leaves). Sometimes they will bring back a wolf that you can try to befriend. They gain stats in Wisdom and Agility.

Stoic Personalities - The stoic guards can go either way when they interact with the animals. If needed they will fight the animals. They can also earn some small amounts of SC (max is 2 SC) or battle trophies. They gain stats in Wisdom and Smarts.

Aggressive and Friendly personalities do not get along, nor do Romantic and Stoic personalities. This means you will want to have the Sentry Guard with either Aggressive and Romantic personalities, or Stoic and Friendly personalities.

So it would be best to have a mix of two personalities (that get along) to have a few different kinds of items that they can earn during a patrol.

How It Works

Like the hunting parties you can create a guard that consists of 3 wolves. They can be sent out the same time as the scouts but it can not be in the same biome and the lead wolf can not also be in the same biome as well. If there is no scouting then you can send out two Sentry Guard groups. But if you have one active scout out then you can only send out one Sentry Guard group. You can't have two active scouts and a Sentry Guard out at the same time.

Their Patrol Time is 2 hours and it spends the whole energy.

The Biomes(from easy to difficult will also play into account) - At every biome it will be different so in a more difficult biome for a patrol it will be challenging for a low stat Sentry Guards (They will lose due to low stats + low proficiency).

What they Bring Back: They can earn Proficiency, exp, or +1 stat, an item/small food, or 1 SC (2 max).

The Difficulties
There will be challenges with the time periods and there are chances of the patrol losing or not gaining items or stats.

The Easy Biomes is easier and safer for low stat wolves but it will take time to build up their proficiency and stats.

The Sentry Guards in the Medium Biomes will start to have more challenges like injuries (Open wounds and heatstroke), and losing the battles (Common if they tend to have low stats).

The Difficult Biomes are challenging if your wolf group stats/group proficiency is not high enough, they can lose. When they lose, they still earn exp and stats but they can gain an illness (Any type), lose Mood %, or lose Energy % if they encounter a fierce opponent animal.

Other Player Suggestions + Changes

This is for other players input about this game suggestion.

- 1 item/SC reward should be max
- 2 Hour Lengths

I like the general idea of sentry guard. It'd be quite satisfying to be able to send as many parties as there are biomes unlocked, to make use of these that we don't normally use. I also like that certain stat can be trained depending on personality. However, the proposed values would make this role quite overpowered, compared to other ones. For starters, the action should take much longer time, like 2 hours with spending the whole energy (no need to categorize into different lengths). Bonus stat gain should be similar to other tasks which reward with bonus stats. And I think 1 item/SC reward should be max.

I do see what you mean with the time intervals. 2 hours sounds like a good patrol time. And it did seem a little over powered so changed the sc to 2 SC max and limited the items (1 item) earned whenever the Guard go out. For the personalities I know that the site wants to implement them more into the game which is why I thought it would be interesting to link them to certain stats and certain situations when the guard is out in the biomes.

Personally, if I can not send out scouts and sentry alongside one another, I would feel like this actually negatively impacts what I am currently able to do with scouting alone, and with 60-70 wolves.  For example, if I have both scouts Rescouting, even with Glacier/Rainforest not unlocked yet in the first part of my day, I get lots of Toys which if sold for GC, can fuel Guarana for the next part: the wolves who scout more than once a day scouting (and later, rescouting) the Glacier/Rainforest. With the time I have available, I get more from my wolves in traded currency and experience from 1 hour 40 minute intervals than I do out of that. :/

Three wolves every two hours might be nicer (and less check ins, less micromanaging), but Rescouting does give me two Amusement category items, and like I said, I am quite able to exchange that for currency for Guarana and such if I so desire. Rescouting regularly supplies me with five use Amusement items such that I don't worry one iota if I get a Grouse or Puffin Feather a couple of times a day from this technique. The Amusement stacks up over time, as does the EXP, from this Many Scouts Rotation.

If you are concerned about it being overpowered, perhaps a wolf is not allowed to carry both the Scout and Sentry roles in the same rollover to prevent "double dipping." I still like your concept of Sentry Guards in hypothesis, but I get a lot out of how I am currently able to run/use the Scout role.

Could be fun. We really just need some kind of new roles with different stat combos.

I really like the idea of this kind of role, and I think you explained it nicely! However, I'd like to see this as added role on top of scouts, hunters, pupsitter etc. rather than "taking" a role (I'd like to see more possible roles for wolves in game regardless), but otherwise I like the idea!

Support! I really would like to see this. Wolvden really need more roles, and this is a cool idea for getting items, give wolves more roles and that the wolf personalities have a use beside in hunting parties!
