Yes, it indeed is!
I'm otherhearted with rats (and potentially wolves, I surprisingly have a hard time telling apart whether I just love them or have a connection with them) and also and Eastern Coyote therian - so yeah, you can be both!
Your heart-/kithtype (it's the same, just different terms lol) is more like chosen family, while your theriotype might feel more like blood family.

Don't know if I've shared yet, but I'm a canine (any, it like fluctuates I guess?? Idk the name) and horse therain!

The one's I have mental shifts more often with is wolf, coyote, and horse :)

It's lovely to see more activity on this thread! As Midnight said, it's definitely possible to be both a therian and otherhearted. As another example I'm an Eastern timber wolf and crow-hearted 		TherianRose 🐾

I agree with y'all, it's so cool to see Wolvden has people from every community!
(Also that no one is breaking the rules, I doubt that everyone who has seen this topic supports therians/etc., yet no one left a nasty hate comment )
Wolvden is also actually the first ever place I where connect with other therians, since I just found my theriotype a month ago (I did lots of research though, just wanted to say that).

Just a guess because I of course don't know your exact experiences, but maybe you're a Clade therian? (I believe that's what it's called.)
It's like if you rather identify with a whole clade of animal, like if instead of identifying as a lion, someone might identify as a feline instead.
(I personally don't think subterms are so important, the experience is, but it can be still helpful in my opinion to describe the experience.)

I don't know your situation and also haven't handled anything like that myself before, but what I would personally do is try to figure out what they're talking about and then suddenly let them know you're aware of it with some sort of fitting comeback and answers to what they might respond.
But that's just what I would do, I could be very wrong.
