My suggestion is this: Give us the ability to whitelist players on our initial chatter posts so that they can edit it too, think of it as functioning the same way as inviting your friends to edit a Google Doc would. I picture us getting a dropdown similar to the one we have in the TC for gifting and private trades, where you can either enter the player's ID or select from your friends list. This would give those you whitelist the ability to edit the post itself. However, they would not be able to whitelist others to the post and they would not be able to delete it (if this function becomes implemented). Those decisions would be left up to you as the original poster. And obviously, if you wish, you can un-whitelist someone at any time. I imagine this would honestly take quite a bit of coding to make happen. (Edit for further clarification) And just like Saeginko said, this is an entirely optional function, you don't need to do it! If you'd wish to whitelist someone, then go ahead; if not, then you are free not to. I imagine this could be a very useful function to others like me out there who are maybe working on collaborative posts of their own and would like a helping hand. What do you guys think? |

There are lots of threads I see where the creator leaves the site permanently and the others have to remake a whole new thread just to make edits. Even hiatuses can cause backlog and communication issues, since the main stuff isn't being updated. Real life comes first, always, but it's unfortunate situations like that happen. With something like this, that would be much less likely! And nobody has to whitelist others to edit if they don't want or need to! It's meant to be optional, so if you don't trust anyone enough to give them that ability, you 100% don't have to! (I'm mentioning this because I suggested the same thing on LD many years back, and this was the main concern.) |
