Does the story affect your pack? If not it would be really cool if it did.

So I seem to have finished today's part of the story. My opinions:

  • You should've seen the hype in the main chat during the last RO and "LET ME IN!" screaming!

  • It's so climatic when the text appears at "Very Slow" pace.

  • According to Sirona's story, Maeve always told somewolf else where she was going but once she slipped away unnoticed. It means either she disappeared on her will or as always, she informed somewolf else who actually is responsible for her disappearance and might be behind all this mystery. Asking potential suspects in the pack might be pointless because the spy might've joined Conall's party and made sure they'd never return.

  • Imagine you're asked to meet an elder wolf in another pack and the first he does is pigeonholing you as not a half bad looking wolf, bit scrawny and arrogant.

    • This is awkward to call my lead scrawny even bit. Wolf diet is to refill 20% of hunger per rollover and this is exactly how much pack wolves are fed. My lead wolf while exploring the previous rollover refilled 178% of hunger. The diet is similar in other rollovers - my lead binges on food every rollover and he dares to call him bit scrawny?

    • How can you attach a personality trait the first time you see a stranger wolf who hasn't spoken a word? Did I have to bow my head as Sirona? First, it was Sirona who bowed in apology. I had nothing to apologize for, I was called without being obliged to as I was from another pack. Second, we don't bow to elders in my pack because there are no elders. It's been suggested to have elders but devs haven't implemented them yet so I had no opportunity to learn this culture. Third, I hadn't been told to bow my head even though Sirona had kept explaining all that mattered on the way but she was in rush. But alright, next time I was submissive and nicer. Elders seemed to be always grumpy. He's cute when irritated though.

  • Really, Sirona? Hallucinogenic herbs? Is this the theory you've been thinking about so far? I get that my herbalist doesn't bring these herbs, otherwise hoarding them would make my pack sick, and this could explain Maeve leaving "on her will" but my scouts also must've seen them and they're still fine even though they don't know about herbs as much. I think my theory about the spy among your pack is more reliable. I think it's better to investigate third-party packs which had members disappearing but okay, as Quany supports your theory and I agreed to be submissive to him, I'm gonna follow your plans.

  • Sirona and Quany are more cunning than I thought. Lowen disappeared in mysterious circumstances. Maeve and Conall disappeared because they searched for somewolf else who had disappeared before. Now, to avoid the risk of losing anywolf else in Chaorainn Pack, they ask a stranger wolf from another pack. Acknowledging that hallucinations might be related to the disappearance, they send out the stranger wolf to bring its source. Fortunately for them, my lead's smarts is not the best stat to realize this ruse. Very sneaky, very sneaky!

  • I wish Trinket Piece wasn't removed from our inventory when we progress with the story. I'd like to know how many players have progressed this far.

  • Hello badger, raccoon is your cousin, right? Yeah, I knew it. Doing favours for less than 10% of what I gain from exploring daily. Stinginess is a genetic trait, apparently.

  • Some SQ can be directly traded between players? Awesome!

Love the choose your own adventure cave, although I've noticed it doesn't show up in the Tundra?

@TikindiDragon: I've been exploring exclusively in the Tundra (barring when I had to go to another biome for hints) and I've been getting the cave encounters just fine!  I think it really just comes down to RNG.

My only complaint for this entire event is the way text appears in the story. It's really painful for the eyes and I see no benefit. It slows down my reading, forces me to stay locked to one tab until it's done writing itself, and is all-around infuriating because I have to wait for this to literally be spelt out like I'm at a stop light in traffic. Just let me cross the road.

Even when set to very fast, it takes a while for it to appear and I am not allowed to tab away because it won't actually appear unless I'm staring right at the tab! I really wish there was an option to make all the text just... appear at once. Normally. As it's supposed to on any forum page or shop. It's really just discouraging me from pursuing the story because I don't want to wait for a computer to tell me I'm allowed to read something and it holds me hostage to that tab if I actually want to proceed anywhere with the event.

The items are pretty, the characters are sweet, I love the backgrounds, and the little update with adventures in the night is a really fun touch. I just wish it didn't behave like a mobile game where I have to wait for an ad to load before I'm allowed to proceed.

Obviously there's no actual ads popping up, I'm just really not happy with this.

Have you tried turning off the text speed?

I'll have to see if that helps after rollover but thank you for the advice, I'll try it out!

As it is, I'm well aware that it's a super minor and insignificant thing but it's driving me bananas

Seconding Dżanek, that's exactly what turning the text speed off does. Can confirm since I checked all the options before picking the one that suits me.

Also I don't know, the fastest setting doesn't take that long? It's REALLY fast, it's always well-since over by the time I've reached the end of it. I'm not a slow reader, either.
