A Leader's Questions...

Posted 2021-01-19 16:14:57

I looked to the alpha, “It depends on where we’re living at the time. If we have any ponds, lakes, or rivers around, I make sure everyone in the pack knows how to swim. I know how to swim myself, and so does my beta, Storm.”

”All right, my turn to ask!” I turned to the next wolf. “What’s the funniest thing that has happened to you, your pack, or both?”

Snowden raised his paw to cover his chuckle “just the other day my scout DelaCruz and I made a trip towards the river near our caves and across from it we spotted two elk facing each other off” he snickered “now first we thought look at that dinner serving itself to us, but DelaCruz stopped me before I could start stalking for the Elk to our right, a enormous bull, had begun to charge his opponent.”

Snowden shifted from his sitting position and raised himself onto his back paws his front legs curled into his chest to show how the elk rose to charge. “As the bull charged forward with such might” Snowden then dived downwards and fell flat on his back looking up at Rose he stuck his tongue out and panted the rest of his words through laughter “He tripped” Snowden rolled a bit around his body raked with chuckles “ the poor guy got so stuck in the mud and his opponent ran off” he rolled to his side and raised his head smirking “and well needless to say we had elk for dinner”

after rising and giving himself a good shake he padded over to his spot and looked over to the next leader tongue sticking out with a smile on his face “What does your pack do when they come back from a unsuccessful hunt?”

Birch looking over Snowden chuckled before he snapped out of thought & replied.

" Well my hunting group so far is pretty small, I have two wolfs in-charge of hunting named Crescent & Corn. When both of them had a unsuccessful hunt, they usually spend time playing with the pups/ other wolves in our den, take a long nap or make up random games to cheer themselves up from the failed hunt. "

Birch looked among the other wolves from the rock he was laying on & asked:

" what type of fun activities or games do your pack members like to play? "

Rattus laughs, leaning on his mate Absinthe. "Feathers, and games of make-believe. The young ones pretend they're leaders, or Scouts, exploring new places and fighting bears- thats us adults. Sometimes we hold a big stick and they practice attacking us like we're moose."

He thinks a moment. "We do tell stories, a lot of the time. We've made a game of it, of guessing what happened in the pasts of the wolves with no memory, why they would forget like that. Drawings of images we see tgat we aren't sure are history or fiction or both. Since we've moved, we've started playing with clay for dens and small things. Arrhythmic and Velvet especially have taken to it, as have most of the wolves with nothing to do. That, and keep-away with the trophies."

He nods, then turns to the next wolf.

"What are your favorite preys to eat, when you have the choice? Or your pack, too?"

Ears flicking uncertainly, Scathos stepped forward. "I mostly prefer rabbits and hares when it comes to personal use. My mate and I often end up sharing. Though the pack as a whole tend to prefer elk and the like." He paused, " this snowcall hasn't been easy on my pack, so none of us are very picky." The male wasn't afraid to admit some weakness, while they had struggled to get enough food to feed the whole pack for a short time, which was rapidly changing as the season was quickly coming to an end.

Turning his gaze to another, Scathos let out a hum and spoke. "Speaking of seasons, which is your favorite season?"

Amaris turned to Scathos,

''My favorite season would be spring. I love the beautiful flowers and the light rain.''

She sighed thinking about it,

''But I also like fall because of all the colors and just the smell of it is relaxing.''

She then turned to another wolf and ask,

''How did you and your mate meet?''

“My mate and I grew up together,” Rose responded. “He was the alpha’s nephew. I was the daughter of a rogue who had just joined the pack. Fang had a crush on me. It was a while before I came to trust him, considering how his aunt behaved.”

“What do you think of humans?”

Nyx hums softly, the corners of her lips rising upwards in an eerie grin. "Not all humans are monsters," she replies with a huff, almost as if she knows her answer will get a rise from the other leaders. "Yes, some want to destroy our homes and dress in our pelts, but there are the ones who yearn to help us," no, she is not a "human-lover"; it has been years since Nyx has last interacted with a human and even more since she has last been touched by one. And yet, the female cannot bring herself to outright loathe them; after all, humans are the sole reason why it is possible for her to live in the mountains with her pack. "I do not mind them as long as they stay away from the pack. But if they tried to cause harm to my wolves, I would not hesitate to protect what is mine," she deems it a valid opinion. An argumentative one. For now, it will have to be good enough.

Slowly, her eyes move to another wolf, pondering before she asks. "Why did you name your pack this way?"

Oliver looked back with excited eyes. She had always wanted someone to ask the question.

"When I was with my old pack, the one I grew up in, we sort of followed this deity-like figure. Her name was Lighten, and she was said to have created the lands we lived on.

"She also was said to be able to reincarnate, so if we every found a while she-wolf with white eyes, you would be very lucky. I never believed it of course.

"But, there's a part of me that wants it to be real, just because it seems nice. So I used the name Lighten for my park when I left my old one. It holds meaning and nostalgia to me, even though I hated my old pack."

"So anyways," She turned to a leader that interested her, "Have you met any other packs? Have you made alliances, or even enemies?

" Yes, I have interacted with a few in pursuit of finding partners for the wolves that are in heat, and even made allies with one of them. My pack had a few territory squirmishes, but nothing very serious. I don't engage too much and like to observe on the side instead."

The tall dark brown female responded in a short manner, her voice dark pitched but soft, unlike her appearance that was very hardy and weather bitten.  Without anything left to say, she turned her powerfull head towards the next leader, tilting her head a bit.

" Was there any sort of particuliar reason you were given the name you bear? Does it mean something? "
