A Leader's Questions...

Evening stood up, thinking intently about the question. Finally, she started, "Dangers? Currently, we are recovering from a horrible food shortage, but we are managing because of the spring. We haven't had any recent outbreaks of illnesses, only a few scattered ones that our amazing herbalist was able to cure quickly."

She hesitated, looking as if she was decided whether or not to say something. She did a few moments later, "I, or we, have been experiences some... things with the Dreamlands. Something's up with our ancestors, and we consider them as still part of our pack. They seem scared, I hope they'll be okay, but we have so little control and information about what's going on there."

"Anyway," she shook her head and smiled, "my question. What would you do if you couldn't feed every wolf in your pack? Who would be fed first? And would you ever think about exiling wolves to have less mouths to feed?"

Rukkaua let out a soft hum as she stepped forward her tail curling with displeasure. "Pups, nursing mothers, and our best hunting teams are fed first. As pups are the future, and a well-fed hunter is bound to catch more prey than one with an empty stomach. Once they are fed, the higher ranks eat, then the others, scouts pupsitters, etc." She replied, voice silky but cool.

"Omega's are fed last, and if push comes to shove, they are exiled. Thankfully, we've never had a situation so bad that we've had to resort to such a thing. Though maybe I just jinxed us." The queen mused sharing a look with her mate.

Her gaze turned to another wolf within the crowd as she stepped back. "How are omega's or lower-ranked wolves treated in your pack? In theory and in Practice the is their treatment the same, different?"

Oscer looked up from where she was laying, ears perked "In my pack Omega's are treated like any other wolf, the only difference is they submit to everyone unlike a beta who only submits to their Alpha" The old Alpha replied in a rough voice.

Pushing up to sit Her eye scanned the crowed of wolves, one catching her attention she asked away "Excuse me fellow wolf, i must ask, how do you keep pups and pack mates in line so they don't act out?" 

Kira glanced at the elder lead. "We discipline them of course," She said slowly, tail swishing impatiently. "A nip to the leg or shoulder, keeping watch and vigil all night." She shrugged. "Usually depends on the action. So the answer to your question is punishment."

Kira looked around at the groups of leaders, then finally approached one, head held high. "How do you care for your pups?" She asked.

A faded black and purple she-wolf sat near the group. "To be blunt, we don't. My pack values strength and determination above all else. If a pup is pleasing enough, or heir potential, they may be put under the care of a sitter. Otherwise, they are expected to survive to adolescence on their own. We ensure they are fed, and have playthings, of course, but they need to prove strong enough to survive in the pack." She shakes her head, fur still thick ftom wintering in the mountains. "Although, Vixen and the Immortal have both vouched for a pup each, so there is that. Now, I'm curious. Do any of you change your pack's grounds during the seasons? I know my pack prefers to come down from the mountains during the spring, easier hunting."
