A Leader's Questions...

Verdance contemplates the question, finally she says "My favorite forest animal would have to be foxes. They are just like us but smaller. I find that intriguing." Verdance then ask her own question "What animal would you want to be if not a wolf?"

That was an easy question for Lupe. "I would most certainly prefer to be a bird of some kind," they replied. "What sort does not matter to me. I could be a songbird, an eagle, an owl, or a vulture. Anything so I may spread my wings and soar into the heavens once more," Lupe sighed and looked up to the sky, reminiscing upon their past now.

They turned to the next leader, "Is there anything from before now that you miss, with all your heart?"

Rain paused for a moment, feeling somewhat sad upon hearing the question directed towards her. "Well, yes.. I do miss my past." She sighs a little, her eyes shining wistfully a little. "Though I am very proud of the pack I founded and all those I have become friends with, before I left my old pack to found a new one, a tragic event had torn me away from my home and family..."
She turned away from the wolf who asked the question, face filled with sorrow. "A bolt of lightning started a forest fire and burned the forest my pack lived in to the ground, me and my current herbalist now were the only survivors. My friends and family were among the ash after the fire had burned itself out...."
She shook herself, attempting to shake the horrible memory away, "It's in the past now." She turns to a nearby wolf, her green eyes brightening. "I was wondering, does your pack assign roles from birth like my pack? We test our pups and newly joined wolves to see what their skills are so we can figure out what the best thing they can do for the pack is."

Artos, who had chosen to stay quiet and listen to the other leaders —and get lost in his thoughts in the process- that last question brought back quite a few memories he wished he could just bury already—, looked up from the pebble he had been fidgeting with when he realised he was being talked to. "Hm? Ah, well..." He took a few seconds to collect his thoughts, silently wishing he had brought his friend with him instead of coming alone... "We also test our pups and newcomers to see what their strengths and weaknesses are, but we don't assign roles from birth." He looked down again, pensively tracing a small circle in the dirt with a claw. "We usually let the newcomers do what they were doing before they left their pack, and we let the pups choose what they want to do while helping them develop their skills," he eventually said, moving to scratch his ear before he remembered that his companion and his herbalist would definitely notice and scold him again once he came back... Why did ear wounds have to be so itchy?

"Hmm..." He turned to the wolf next to him, "Are there games you like to play with your pack when you're not busy?" he asked, hoping to get rid of the lingering sadness in the air with a more light-hearted question.

Losgann smiled brightly at that question. Although he don't have much time to play with his pack, they have many games for sure. It took him a moment to decide which one should he pick. "I think my favourite one is hide and seek. It's exciting and pups have great occasion to test their skills." he answered, wagging his tail eagerly. Frog on his head rolled its eyes, clearly dissappointed in alpha's choice. "It's your turn to ask question, dummy" he croaked loudly.

Losgann tilted his head, looking at wolf next to him. "Umm, If you have mate - how did you two meet? If you don't then - you have eyes on anyone?" he asked, giggling quietly.

Blair rolled her eyes at the question. "Yes I do have a mate, his name is Oregano. We..." She lowers her head, embarrassed at having to be so open with others about her private endeavors. "We met while I was consulting the Arcana, the Hierophant made himself known through him and... that's sort of how we started seeing each other. He's gentle and yet holds authority. His knowledge in medicine and herbs is what has kept our pack so healthy, he truly is a master of his craft." She puffs her chest, proudly. "I... often feel drained once the moon hangs in the sky, he soothes my worries and cares for me. I've always believed I was to thread this world alone, meeting him made me realize that there's no reason to carry the burden alone, or isolate myself." She lets out a sigh but soon she tensed up, her gaze hardening "Alright that's enough, I've said enough about my private life."
She raises a brow at the wolf next to her.

"If there were to be a day, where your decision will lead to either the destruction of your pack or the destruction of a relationship founded by years of love and understanding, which would you destroy and which would you keep?"

Representative Bombyx is silent for a long time, either to take time to figure out their answer or to figure out if they should lie. But, eventually, they respond with the truth:

"I'd keep Hesper and destroy The Imagoes. I've known him for longer than I've known anyone else alive, and the structure of my pack is such that... well, is it really a pack anymore?", they shake their head. "Might be better to describe it as an alliance more than anything. I think the wolves in my 'pack' would all survive post-destruction, though there may be war to follow."

They look out towards the horizon past the wolf next to them. "What plant or animal is most culturally significant to your pack, and why?", they ask.

"That's... not a question I can come up with an easy answer for, to say the least. I'd say the plant that is most culturally significant to my pack would be dandelions. It was the first thing to come to mind, as they are one of the ingredients to make healing salves, which we have a shortage of and seems to always have a shortage of. It's also because some wolves like to decorate themselves with flowers, especially herbalists for, well, obvious reasons. It's not exactly cultural, but it's certainly an answer!"

"For the animal, my answer would be deer. It's like a symbol of our pack, many of us have respect for the cervidae. It's a connection, a bond. We dont kill or injure them, and in return... Well, I can't exactly disclose that." Tamir chuckled in a friendly manner.

"Now for your question! If you've had any mates, or past mates, why did you fall in love with them? What qualities do you like about them, and some qualities they need to work on? If they were a past mate, what made you fall apart?"

Splint thought on this for a moment. A bone, taken from a large animal's rib, was held between his claws. "That's a rather personal question, don't you think?" He chuffed as he tore off the last remaining bit of tissue that clung to the bone's surface, before he finally answered.

"Well, if you're that curious, I suppose I hold... a certain affection for Tobi, our herbalist," the large wolf said with hesitance in his voice. He almost seemed embarrassed, something that anyone in his territory could attest was completely unlike him. He cleared his throat, and the apprehension in his voice gradually faded into his usual confidence as he continued.

"There's a duality in him. He's strong, yet kind as well. For all its efforts, life has not yet managed to jade his sense of love and wonder. As for qualities I think he could work on... well," the wolf huffed out a bark that resembled a laugh. "He's simply not all there. A bit daft, not that he can help it. Despite that, he's still a genius when it comes to medicine."

"Hm... I suppose it's my turn to ask something, then. Does your pack have any taboos? Anything that's strictly forbidden in your culture?"

Sea Lamprey's Moon tilted her head, confused. Then she huffed, amused. "In the Deep Ocean Pack the only things "taboo" are treason, murder and other horrible things. But it wasn't always like that."

She exchanged looks with Àzzuen, her mate, who whispered something to her, and then asked:
"Is there a Leader your pack isn't allowed to talk about? Someone you're afraid or ashamed to talk about because of their actions?  We sure don't like to talk about Starwing..."
