I'm a big sucker for fantasy/sci-fi/supernatural books in general. I've not seen anyone mention them here, but I absolutely love the Wheel of Time by Robert Jordan and I've started getting into the Witcher books by Andrzej Sapkowski :) of course I adore lord of the rings too!! there's also a fair few YA series I've read in those genres, but my favourite of those would probably have to be the Pendragon books by DJ MacHale: criminally underrated and really quite good. (They have nothing to do with arthurian legend though haha)

I see others have already, but still gotta mention Watership Down. That's probably my favorite book, if I had to pick just one. I can't recommend it enough.

I grew up with Warrior Cats, so of course, that still 100% has it's place for me. (If you like those books, definitely check out Tailchaser's Song.)

I basically only read animal books, I used to read a lot more of those fantasy esc. ones than I do nowadays. Over the past few years, I've actually really been getting into non-fiction/science sort of reading. I like biographies about individual dogs. When it comes to non-fiction wolf books, pretty much anything by Rick McIntyre is very much worth a read. I love his series focusing on individual wolves of Yellowstone.

Honestly a lot of the books on OP's list are ones I grew up with and still like quite a lot. My pack on here is loosely Warriors-inspired, in fact! I've made various OCs over the years based on Warriors, WoTB, Guardians of Ga'Hoole, and Wings of Fire and I'm just getting back into some of this stuff recently.

Struggling to decide what dragon OC to start fleshing out as my main one, but I've made a few main ones, plus tossed around some ideas for side characters. For my main character I'm likely either going with a Skywing, an Icewing, a Nightwing, or maybe a hybrid of some sort. I *think* I might start with the Skywing? I also found my old wolf and owl OCs from GoG and WoTB.

For Warriors I just recently tried ClanGen a bit (paused bc school) but I've also just made random characters myself. Fan clans are interesting but can be hard to make without things like ClanGen, so I've largely stuck to making Warriors OCs for the canon clans, over the years.

I haven't made any OCs but for a good chunk of my life I've also loved reading the Percy Jackson series. The new show looks good too, tho I don't watch much tv especially at school. I haven't read them in a few years either but they were a lot of fun to read in high school!

I've also sometimes liked to read some classic mystery books like the Sherlock Holmes series. Sometimes I do not have the braincells or energy to try to read mysteries, but they're a lot of fun when I do.

Redwall is another one I loved growing up, I only have the first book so far but I've reread it quite a lot. Finally bought a new copy because my old one was literally falling apart (I've attempted to fix it and make it readable by taping and stapling it back together LOL).

Edit/add-on: Also I think it's hilarious that I've read Warriors off and on since like first grade, got complained at by bah-humbug teachers and was basically known for being the weird neurodivergent book kid growing up. I'm 23 and still reading them! And they've only gotten more popular. I wonder if those teachers are still teaching and if my old schools have a new generation of weird cat/wolf/dragon/etc bookworm kids there? Lol

I like a huge cross-section of genres, but I just discovered, then devoured all of Martha Wells Murderbot Diaries.
This is the synopsis for the first one I read, All Systems Red , Tor.com, 2017 from her site:

'On a distant planet, a team of scientists are conducting surface tests, shadowed by their Company-supplied 'droid -- a self-aware SecUnit that has hacked its own governor module, and refers to itself (though never out loud) as "Murderbot." Scornful of humans, all it really wants is to be left alone long enough to figure out who it is.'

Nebula Award Winner for Best Novella, ALA/YALSA Alex Award Winner, Locus Award Winner for Best Novella, Hugo Award Winner for Best Novella, Philip K. Dick Award Finalist, New York Times Bestseller for Audio

If you're familiar with StarTrek:TNG's android Data, just imagine this Security Bot with his self-awareness combined with Guinan's personality.
Love it!
