Does customising an existing wolf wipe that wolf's stats?

I want to customise a wolf, to use as my breeding male, but I picked the wolf because they have higher stats than most of the ones in my den - would those stats change for the worse if I customised the wolf? The customiser says that it overwrites any existing data. Sorry if this is already made clear somewhere ^^;

Not that I've seen, I customized my lead wolf and his stats remained. It just wipes whatever existing colors, markings and coats they have, unless you re-select them. If you're trying to do a randomized color, you can lock certain sections or turn off the randomize for that option by clicking the dice symbol next to it. When it's greyed out it won't be affected by the randomize. Likewise clicking the lock icon on the markings section, locks a marking onto that priority/tier, ie having say a mantle marking on the line above a paws marking, so you don't accidentally grab it and move it's order.
