Same Sex Breeding Item

I LOVE the surrogate/wet nurse!!!!! I think that being a role could be so neat. Though for simplicity sake maybe it could just be a female Pupsitter? Though in my personal preference Wet Nurse being its own role would rule.

And agreed for f/f couples just sort of selecting which wolf to be pregnant would make that all easier.

I def also hadn't considered how unfair it would be with regard to pup survivability so I think this is all a good compromise!

Oo yeah I'd be willing to compromise that as a female pupsitter c: Besides, it's kind of a specific role-- your wet nurse would likely be doing nothing a lot of the time. Problem avoided by just having it be any female pupsitter c:
Maybe an age requirement or requirement that she's been bred before, just for logistics? But that's just an addition, the idea doesn't need it to work c:

Ooo that's very true about the pregnancy heart - it's really convenient to just check it to figure out when you need to nest your wolves. It's a good idea to use another symbol, for sure!!

What if the wolf that needs to be nested gets a pregnancy heart, because people are already used to checking that for their nesting, and the other wolves involved get another countdown symbol? I think it's important to have Some symbol/countdown on the wolves in the pairbond, so you know who you used the item on and when to expect their puppies!

I also ADORE the idea of a wet nurse role! :O I think it's asking a little too much right now, and for now I agree that a female pupsitter would be sufficient. Maybe in the future it could be a sub role/specialization from the overall pupsitter role?   But I think this may be another conversation altogether haha!

I also really like the idea that the wet nurse would need to have had her own pups before these ones - it adds another level of realism that I think is super cool!

Oo yeah maybe the symbol could be a couple little pawprints like the emoji? 🐾 Indicating they'll soon have a buncha little prints around the cave lol
I think Samsung's version of this emoji would be a good reference, having them brown

Maybe a lighter brown with higher contrast/darker shading, or with an outline, so that it's equally accessible to light and dark mode users

THAT'S SO CUTE I LOVE IT!
When I get a chance tonight I'll update the first post with our new thoughts, so people can see the changes without having to read through all this ^^ I really think we worked through most of the main problems people might have with the idea

Awesome!
I gave this some more thought and (with my new bias from emotional investment lol) I've left a Support c: I feel more open to it with mechanical options fleshed out, plus I've decided family trees might seem confusing at first but aren't actually convoluted, and we'd get used to seeing an M/M or an F/F lineage from time to time c:

AAHA GUYS A WOLF COULD HAVE A LINEAGE MADE UP ENTIRELY OF FEMALES LOL, or all males on the paternal side and all females on the maternal side

I think it'd be cool seeing how wild people would get with specific lineages! We already have people breeding balanced family trees, or creating other challenges for themselves, so I can 100% see someone only breeding pups with exclusively female or male lineages c: That would be another fun aspect of this feature!! (creates an amazon warrior pack exclusively of female wolves lol)

I have to be honest down voting is the only logical choice. Family trees would be seriously disrupted and like already stated which female would be pregnant? Same problem with males forgeting the fact that they biologicly can not have kids. Although I have no problem with same sex pairs, this would be a major problem. Adopting is an option and is perfectly reasonable without complications.

@NazgulWitchKing - could you explain to me how this would tangibly disrupt family trees? People keep bringing it up but I really don't get it - the genders of the wolves are already listed on the tree, so it shouldn't actually have an impact.
In regard to your other problems, I'd suggest reading the first post. We addressed which female would be pregnant (neither) as well as how the males would have puppies (they would not be pregnant).
