I need a bit of advice to how hunting works. When I first started the game I sent only one wolf out to hunt and I got 2 to 3 successful hunts with just them, but now the same wolf is unable to bring back anything at all. She's only able to track and chase the prey, but now it always seems to get away from her. I know it's better to have more than one wolf in the hunting party, but the other two adult wolves I have are currently sitting pups or are nursing them. Also, when the hunts succeeded it was winter, and I've heard that hunting is actually harder at that time, so why is the prey always getting away now in the spring? I still catch plenty of prey while exploring, but right now I need to have 2 successful hunts for a quest, so my wolves aren't starving or anything, but any help and advice would greatly be appreciated! |

Try to befriend a wolf with a similar personality to your hunter at the moment. Like if they're a stoic personality (which you can find on Grouse House's guides) you match them with an aggressive or stoic wolf. If they're friendly, then you match them with the same or romantic so they hunt better together. Then you get their proficiency up by just hunting as much as possible. Sometimes it fails which sucks but they will get better and better. I was told it's best to have five hunters so they can do all 10 hunts a day without losing too much energy and HP. And also like, chasers should have higher agility and speed, finishers have higher strength, that sort of thing. Most of it is all explained in the guide I said above. Good luck! I only have one hunter right now but I also have someone who was in EA living with me giving me hints so hopefully this all works out for you. :) |

I feel you, Sojourn. I have a full hunting party of five, but my finisher can't seem to get her teeth in the prey. I send them on critter trails that are supposed to be easy, but they only have about 50% success rate. Sometimes I think they're a bunch of worthless dogs. |

It helps if you have a hunting party with a least 3 wolves, one for each role (they only gain proficiency in the first role they are assigned for so make sure your finisher only occupies the last slot) And hunts fail quite often in the beginning, especially when synergy is low. It took my hunting party about 30 hunts (~11% synergy) to catch a prey about every second try. Also make sure the stats match the role! |
