"I'll be making my nest if anyone needs me" he said sadly, keeping his head low as he grabbed some grass and leaves and trotted into the undergrowth surrounding the clearing. Tears stung his eyes. It had been so long since he had thought about his past, about the nightmares that plagued him well he slept. He thought he could be a good leader, someone to look up to, but truly, deep down, he was his father's son.

Posted 2022-04-07 13:57:48 #719744 It startled him when the earth shook. It was only a small movement, but he immediately worried for his pack. He perked his ears up, but he couldn't hear a sound. He stood for a few more moments before dismissing it has his imagination. He found a nice hollowed out tree, and began forming a nice nest with the grass and leaves.  When the nest was done,  he curled up and tired to sleep, but he missed the warmth of another wolves body, the comfort of knowing he wouldn't wake up alone. He missed Lion. ~flashback~  Danger curled up on the cave floor, shivering. Suddenly, another wolf nudged him. "Hey, you look cold, are you ok?" The wolf asked. He looked up at the wolf, and his heart melted at the sight of a male wolf pup, with golden fur And cheerful green eyes. That was when he knew, he was going to fall in love with this wolf ~end of flashback~

He stood as tall as he could, unexplainable anger ripping through him. "I don't want any fights in my pack." He said quietly, "either you get along, or you settle your differences someplace else." He said. And then, he realized. He sounded exactly like his father. He froze. He  Backed slowly. "I-I'm s-sorry.." he stuttered. He turned and ran back into the woods.

He knew he needed to stop this pity party, but he just couldn't stop the memory from his head. The night his world fell apart. The night he left. The night his father killed his love…his sweet, gentle, caring Lion.
