Adopt-A-NewbieWelcome!Wolvden can be a bit overwhelming while you're first starting out. There's so much to learn and so many questions to be asked!
Adopt-a-Newbie was created as a place for new players to come for help with the game. We seek to pair experienced players with new or returning players to give them a guiding paw in their getting started with Wolvden! This forum post will walk you through everything you need to know to get started with the clan! Announcements
4/17: Clan activity has been moved to fully operate within the official group! Please refer to the group's most recent announcement or this post for more information.
How it Works
Adopt-a-Newbie wouldn't work without our mentors! When a newbie requests some help, one of our mentors may choose to "adopt" them. After this, the mentor will become the apprentice's go-to guide for answering questions, providing materials in the case of emergency, and guiding the newbie along the path of getting used to the game!
The mentorship by default lasts one month, however if the apprentice still wants some extra help after this one-month period they may choose to extend the mentorship! An apprentice can also end the mentorship early if they've caught on quickly. The Adopt-a-Newbie program operates completely voluntarily. Mentors are not paid for their help, and apprentices do not have to pay for assistance. The Full Process
Once a newbie has applied to become an apprentice in the clan, their assigned mentor will reach out to them through PMs to greet them. They will be assigned the Apprentice role in the official clan by one of the clan admins.
After this, the newbie is welcome to DM their mentor at any time to ask questions about the game or request some assistance if they are struggling. By default, the mentorship lasts one month real time. After one month has passed, or if the apprentice has not asked any questions in a couple weeks, the mentor will reach out to see if the apprentice is ready to "graduate". If the apprentice still needs more time to get used to the game, they can choose to extend the mentorship for as long as they'd like to. If an apprentice hasn't logged into Wolvden for one week, their mentorship will be put on hold until they get back. Graduated apprentices will gain a new role in the clan which will allow them to collect more items from the hoard every day. They can also join as a mentor later on, if they would like to! Ready to Join?
We're excited to have you!
You can get started with the program by joining our Clan. After you've joined, take some time to familiarize yourself with our rules and how the program works. Then, you can reply to this forum topic (or the newbie Applications forum topic in the clan), to let us know that you would like a mentor! You may choose to fill out this optional form to help mentors decide if they would be a good fit. Time Zone:
Once you have responded to one of the forum topics, a mentor will reach out to you as soon as they can! Interested in helping out as a mentor instead? All mentor applications are handled through the clan forums. Clan Events
Adopt-a-Newbie is hosting its first raffle, just for apprentices! Check out the Group Raffles post for information once you've joined the group.
We hope that raffles like these will give new players an opportunity to get some valuable wolves early on! |

𓆏 rainbowjewel 𓃗, welcome also!! Happy to have you as a mentor, I'll give you the role in the clan. For mentors: I've added an Apprentice Adoption forum topic to the clan forum board, where mentors can post to let everyone else know that they've adopted a newbie who applies on this forum topic. I think anyone with the mentor role should be able to see and respond to it, providing it's working right. Whoever would like to be MysteryKit's mentor can post on that clan thread! |

How long have you been playing Wolvden?: Since November 2020. Would you say you understand Wolvden's mechanics well?: I'd say like the back of my hand. Are you online every day?: I've kept up a 28-day streak this far! My activity usually slows down towards the end of the week due to my part-time job, but the apprentice can always contact my discord (which I will provide) if they need me. |
