Rain seems unfazed by her strange behavior, but he does note it, he's felt with all kinds of animals who act similarly, usually due to isolation trauma. Woah. Big words.
"Where did you learn wolf, I assume you were kept by humans if you know you were half dog."
With a shrug she releases all the worldly math mysteries in her mind and looks again at the real wolf speaking to her, "Yea my caretakers were human, haven't seen them in many moons. Ummmm am I speaking wolf?? You must have taught me! I've never seen a real wolf," everytime she ways real wolf a reverence enters her voice, "before now. I mean unless you count Bob."
Her face lights up at the praise as she jumps to her feet, her whole body wiggling from excitement, "You mean I'm doing well!?" Looking at her feet she snorts loudly, "Well I guess you guys are keeping me alive! Ok I take back what I told you before I won't chew you off to save myself the trouble!" She turns in a circles with joy until her legs once again get tangled up and she sprawls face first into the ground still beaming with pride!
Rolling onto her back looking up at the wolf, "I do! My caretakers gave it to me and I didn't like it when I was puppy, but you can't always like every name that's given to you right? So I just learned to answer when they said Shilah. Wait if you're a real wolf and didn't have caretakers how'd you learn your name?"
"I had a pack, a mother and father and all kinds of wolves. They called me a name I avoid saying. But my true name came to me in a vision. Now I go by Rain." He pauses
"True name in a vision..." her eyes glaze over as she contemplates his words, "My birth mother said real wolves had interesting traits that must be what she meant." Focusing back on Rain she smiles right as her stomach bellows out it's hunger. Rolling onto her stomach she curls herself into a tight ball, "Not now we've got company!" her words come out muffled as she presses her face into her side
"Are you hungry Shilah? We have elk that we need to eat. Don't want it going spoiled and wasting."
Rain gestures to the elk "I need to go check on a pup, but help yourself to the meat."
And he goes to check on Whisper "hey pup" he whispers "you awake yet?"
Head popping up at the mention of food she looks to the elk carcass drooling. Rushing over she bites into it eating her fill. "Thank you Rain. Real wolves are much nicer than my caretakers made you out to be!" With a contented sigh she flops over and promptly passes out, not used to being so full.
((I gotta hop off now thanks for the RP!))
