Hiroshi tried his best to resist laughing, but how could he not? This kid was what? 5'2, 5'3? He was still standing there in his pajamas, and he looked like he'd just woken up.
Wait- He did just wake up, you idiot!
"Sorry- I didn't mean to wake you, but you didn't really specify a time. ." He explained, still subconsciously going down the checklist of things he had to make sure looked human.
Avery started sleepily signing things to him, which he of course didn't understand. He just held out his hand and reminded him,
"Still don't know sign language, Amy." He gave a small smile.

An embarrassed look made its way onto his face, and after a moment he took his hand.
Sorry, I keep forgetting.
After a moment he led Hiroshi into the apartment. It was kinda small, but it still looked like a nice place. Skye licked Hiro's hand, her tail wagging happily.

It's fine, trust me, it could always be worse.
Once they were inside, he shut the door and bent down to pet Skye.
"Oh hello sweetheart!" He cooed while giving her head scratches.
He then stood up and followed Avery into the living room. He set down his bag and pulled out some textbooks.
"Okay, so we're supposed to do a presentation on our topics-" He stopped, seeing the concerned look on Avery's face.
He sighed, standing up. "You can just flip through the slides, okay? You don't have to stand up in front of everyone."

Avery gave a small nod.  A few thoughts raced through his head, as he got some things.
I hate myself so much...I can't even speak...Everyone thinks you are a freaking freak, so why even try to even do this presentation...I should just drop out...But I can't..

Hiro didn't have to be a genius to know that something was bothering Avery, but he knew better than to pry any more. They got settled, Avery was on the sofa while Hiro was laying on the floor playing with Skye.
"I can feel you staring at me you know?" He laughed, rolling over to face him.
Avery had been glaring at him for almost five minutes.
"I know I know, we have to work.. You don't have to look at me like that Amy!" He groaned, sitting up, his hair falling in weird directions.
They worked on the project for an hour or so, mostly just doing research. Hiro had been taking notes when he dropped his pencil. He used his telekinesis to pick it up. . . SHIT.
He quickly turned to Avery, who was still reading one of the textbooks Hiro had brought.
Shit- Did he see? He panicked, trying to seem as normal as possible.

Avery hadn't really noticed anything. He did look up and give Hiro a funny look when he saw him kinda panic over something. He tilted his head a little in confusion as he furrowed his eyebrows a little. He went to go use sign language before he frowned, putting his hands back down. He huffed a little as he looked at Hiro, trying to see if he would read the confusion on his face and tell him why he was so panicked all of a sudden.

He saw how confused Avery was, and realised that he hadn't seen anything. He quickly tried to come up with an excuse for panicking so much.
"I uh- I forgot to lable the page numbers!"
Oh my- I'm an atrocious liar.        Yep.      You're a bitch, you know that?        I'm you.        . . . Exactly.
He'd noticed that Avery had tried to sign again, but he put his hands back down. Hiroshi felt bad about not being able to communicate properly, so he tried something he'd been practising in the basement for months now.

Hellooo? Can you hear me? He thought, trying to use his telepathy without contact.

Avery seemed a little shocked when Hiro was able to communicate without touching him.
Yes...I didn't know you could do this without having contact with someone.
He looked at Hiro for a second before he looked down at the book pages for a moment.

Hiroshi suddenly jumped up and nearly yelled,
"YES! IT WORKED!" He smiled brightly.
"I've been working on that for months." He sighed, thinking about all the hours he'd spent on it.
He shuddered, sitting back down as he heard Avery laughing very quietly.

Avery's laugh was nothing but a quiet nose, though he had a warm smile on his face as he saw how happy Hiro had been at being able to use his power without contact.
