1x1 Rp w/ Ai! (NVM THEY ALIVE)

Hitashi tried his best to just brush it off, but being reminded of his shortcomings had made him feel a bit worse. He knew he had nothing to be ashamed of, but it still hurt. He'd only ever learned to read numbers for the sake of payment, and had never really picked up on anything else. He raised an eyebrow at Grim's comment, seeming somewhat confused. "Don't bother yourself. I've tried before, Grim." He sighed, picking up the watering can and beginning to go over the garden with a second coat. He kept his back to the other, trying not to seem too irritated. He wasn't upset with Grim, but with himself. He'd tried to teach himself several times before, but it had always fallen through. Even when he did have the time, it was always too confusing for him to handle.

Short postttt- ))
Don't worry about it! My kid brother actually does equine therapy, so I get that it can keep you busy at times. Just pop in when you can, or when you feel like it! ^^ ))

He subconsciously took a step out into the garden, trying to follow Hitashi but withdrew as if the floor was lava. "I was taught by the same people as those who taught the king. Experts in their fields who each took their time to individual assess and cater to their students, do you doubt that I can provide the same if not better level of education?" He wasn't flaunting his blessed upbringing, but trying to prey on Hitashi's own kindness in a way. The other wouldn't want to offend him or step out of line, if Grim pretended to be taken aback by the rejection of his offer then he hoped to end up with an agreement. Another trick from the noble, he was proud of none of them even though he always had good intentions.

Ellooo~ ))

Hitashi gritted his teeth slightly, not wanting to argue with Grim. He didn't want to seem disrespectful, but he truly didn't believe it would work. He'd tried a thousand times before, as well as several others trying to teach him. His mother barely knew how to read, but she'd taught him and his siblings what little she knew. Unfortunately, it hadn't really made much sense to Hitashi, and had just gone in one ear and out the other.
". . That's not what I was saying. Don't put words in my mouth." He sighed, sounding somewhat stressed. "Get your shit together. Just tell him what he wants to hear before you snap at him by mistake." He set the watering can down on a banister and turned around, crossing his arms. "If you want to waste your time trying to teach a commoner to read, then be my guest. I just- I don't want to be a bother." He pinched the bridge of his nose in between his thumb and index finger, closing his eyes for a moment.

Update: Holy shit- Why are you awake?! It's like three in the morning for you?! -._-. ))

Hi !))

It'd worked, at the expanse of Hitashi's patience. Now he had to live up to his word. "It's not a waste of time." He stated. He had connections to people taht could provide all manner of services, if they'd agree to a job offered by him. Perk of being a noble with a bad reputation. Although he wasn't keen on leaving Hitashi in someone else's hands, he'd never been much of a teacher before. He hadn't taken on an apprentice yet, no one to share his workload or pass on his wisdom to. Any opportunity would be better than being a pupil under Grim.

Yeah lol))

Hitashi shook his head a little and turned his back to Grim, picking up the watering can to finish his work. He didn't really want to address that he didn't eat in the mornings, as it tended to cause concern. He still needed to figure out where to plant that damn willow sapling, but he was still pretty clueless. "Probably just do it tomorrow, then." He muttered to himself, seeming lost in thought again. He tended to space out frequently, but he tried not to do it so much when others were around. By this point, he couldn't tell if it was the staff watching him, or if he was going insane. He didn't care too much anymore, but it still caused some paranoia. "Whatever, not like they'd listen if I asked them to stop anyways."

Sleep time ^v^ ))

He heard the other mutter something and assumed it was just him musing out loud. Grim took this as his cue to leave for now, considering this having been somewhat of a success. He had more weighing on his mind, but it was things relating to or regarding Hitashi. These weren't heavy things that felt like a pressure on his chest and made it difficult to continue on through another day. He left for his office to continue his never ending and constantly growing piles of work.

I thought I wrote more than mg previous reply, should we do a bit of a timeskip to midday ?))

Sure lol- I'll start! ^^ ))
And dudeeee- Go to sleep, you insomniac =.= ))

ALSO- We decided a while go that some other noble would try to bribe Hitashi to come work for him instead in an attempt to hurt Grim, but I feel like we should wait a little while before we do that so that the two of them have time to become friends-ish? Lemme know what you think! ))

// *TIME SKIP NOISES* =v= //

The sun was well above the horizon by this point, and was nearing its peak. Hitashi hadn't touched the food that had been brought to him, and had no intentions of doing so. He might eat something later if he grew hungry, but he'd never had much of an appetite anyways.
Hitashi stood back up from his crouched position and stretched out a bit, causing his shirt to lift up ever so slightly above his waist. The sun shone rather nicely, and the seeds could end up germinating by the end of the day if they were lucky. "Shit- I'm filthy. I don't have anything to change into, though. Dammit, I should've brought something with me." He grumbled to himself, silently cursing the staff who had brought him here for not telling him how long his stay would be. He considered just putting up with it for a while, but quickly came to terms with the fact that this project could take months depending on how fast he could work. His initial hopes had been for it to take a few weeks, at most, but that simply wasn't reasonable. With the size of the garden, and the renovations that needed done, there was just no way he could get it done that quickly.

NEW EVENTTTTTTTTTTT- ))

Yes, would be good to wait so their relationship can build up more/it has more of an impact. Need to keep a note of what we plan 0(-(
Also I wonder how many pages we'll get through before any actual romance happens, the slowburn is slow cooking. ))

Surprisingly, Grim lifted his head from all the paperwork on his desk to look to the nearest clock. Usually he wouldn't move much from where he sat, not for hours or sometimes days. He'd just get so engrossed in what he was doing that time moved by without him taking any particular notice of it. His first thought out of his labours was to wonder what Hitashi was doing, probably focused on his own work as he should continue doing. But his mind had already drifted from its concentration, stretching out his arms before standing up and leaving his office. He made his formerly familiar route for the garden, or at least the entrance in. His subconscious still couldn't bring his body to enter the space and there was a prickle under his skin seeing Hitashi in the space. It wasn't a nice feeling and Grim didn't know nor notice it yet. He wasn't ready to address anything about the garden or attempt to fully heal from the things that had happened to him in the past. This was his distraction now, distracting his new possibly friend from working.

YESSS, what faction are you going for ?))

Yissss- It's gonna be fun to act out! ^^ ))
I swear- I would be mad at these two for taking so damn long, but then I realised. . they exist without their consent(As do we all); They don't get to choose a damn thing XD ))

Hitashi took a breath, seeming somewhat stressed. It was quickly dawning on him just how big of an assignment this was going to be.
He wandered down the worn stone path, wondering silently how it had become so deteriorated. He fiddled anxiously with the makeshift bandage as he walked, uncertain of whether or not he really wanted to know the answer. Grim seemed very guarded about his past, especially surrounding this garden. He seemed to care for it, but not so much that he would try to revive it without the intervention of his staff. Hell, if the staff hadn't come to get Hitashi, he probably never would have thought to do any work on this place.
He shook his head slightly, just trying to pay attention to the task at hand. He was meant to be determining whether or not the lantern posts needed replaced, but he couldn't seem to get himself to focus. In an attempt to keep himself somewhat busy while focused, he hummed quietly under his breath. It was by far the easiest way to go about it without causing major disruptions, but it still caused some . . irritation from time to time. Just thinking of this was enough to cause him to abruptly stop humming altogether.

Random idea, but later on, once the flowers start to germinate and poke up above the ground, I was thinking that Hitashi could run up to Grim either while he's working, or just standing there in the doorway like normal. He'd grab his hand or smthn because he's too excited to remember that Grim hates being touched. You could take it wherever you wanted from there, but I think it would be a pretty good scene starter! Feel free to reject or alter! ^^ ))
As for what faction Imma go for, probably Kinfolk. Hby? :3 ))

Looking around the room that entered into the deserted garden, he couldn't spot the other man from where he was positioned. He'd probably wandered further in, out of view. He could see that the breakfast he'd brought earlier in the day had gone untouched which caused a small frown to tug at his lips. Oh well, a person or animal will gladly eat a cold meal. Food was food after all. Grim continued his search, lingering around the entrance into the outdoors area but never venturing too far. "Hitashi!" He called out after no sight or sound of the other, had he left the grounds? Would he let him know beforehand, it wasn't like he needed a babysitter since he was a grown man who could take care of himself. Last time he went out requiring something, he'd made sure a staff member went with him. Grim couldn't remember if Hitashi had agreed to that or not.

I like that idea ! I look forward to them both talk more about their pasts. ))
Independent ! If you want something from there, I'm open to trade for something in kinfolk. ))
