She paused as she heard Jaxx whimper. He looked older now, less. . Alive. She crouched down and held out her hand. He padded over to her and gratefully accepted some head pats.
"Hey buddy.." She smiled softly.
She stood back up and nearly fell over, but regained her footing.
"I hate to tell ya, officer apathy, but you can't just take our shit and leave. Everyone here contributes, even the travellers." She called her the old nickname by accident, but she couldn't take it back now. If Ash didn't already know who she was, she sure as hell would now.
"Look. All I'm askin' is that you stay the night and help out in the garden tomorrow. That's it. We could always use help, and I think it's a fair price for the stuff you're taking."

"Look. I have no reason being here....I can't help you guys." She laid down the bag, and turned towards Yurami. " I want to leave here as soon as I can. I don't want to attract trouble or cause problems..."
Jaxx wagged his tail happily. Ashley was silent for a moment before she spoke, " He's getting older...I'm scared something might happen to him..so I want to ask you a favor..Yurami."

She was caught off guard by her real name, but she regathered her thoughts and looked up to face her.
". . You don't get to ask favors of me, Wood." She looked away, her anger from the years prior suddenly resurfacing.
"Either you leave without the stuff, or you help out tomorrow. Your choice." She covered her mouth, still suffocating in the smell of smoke.

"This is why I hate coming around places like this! God its been 2 years Yurami! You have gotten to live an amazing life with people who love for you and care for you! You get to help people! W-while I'm just the forgotten memory! You did horrible things that day at the base too! I made a mistake, I know that! But in the end I protected both of you! N-now the moment I show up, you look at me like I'm the worst person in the world. But you want to know what I see when I see you. I see the was you looked in that base as you murdered those people.! So fuck you Yurami!" She shouted. She had held in her emotions for too long now and she felt tears running down her face. Her hands were shaking and her body was trembling.

She was shocked to hear all of this from the girl who she was nearly convinced didn't have emotions. Even though it hurt, she knew Ash was right. She wasn't even sure how many lives she had taken at this point. Whether they were bad people or not, she still murdered them.
"Excuse you?! I'm not the one who turned us in! I'm not the one who practically signed away Oliver's LIFE!" She paused, seeing Ashley's rapidly declining state.
Despite everything that had happened, she couldn't bring herself to just stand there and watch as she broke down. She took a step forward and wrapped her arms around Ashley, feeling every emotion that had gone through her head in the past two years. She hadn't done a very good job of processing them, and it was giving Yurami a headache, but she wasn't going to let go. Letting go of her two years ago had been the biggest mistake of her life, and Ash had never even gotten the chance to explain.
"I know I fucked up. I know I'm a goddamn murderer. You don't have to keep telling me." She gritted her teeth, letting go of all the anger she'd been harboring towards this woman.

"I'm sorry. I know what I did was horrible and I'm sorry I'm so sorry." Ashley said as she kept her head down, so Yurami wouldn't see her crying. "Your not a murderer, I'm sorry for saying that. I feel so guilty and horrible about what I did. God I haven't been able to shake that feeling at all. " I understand why you hate me, and I don't expect you to forgive me but please know that I'm sorry."

She listened to her rant, and then immediately tossed it right out the window.
"God, you're so stupid." She mumbled, pulling her in closer. "I can't hate you, Ashley. No matter how hard I try . . It just doesn't work." She grumbled, rubbing her back to steady her breathing. "So are you ever going to explain why.? Or should we just make this our final farewell?" She asked, realising that aside from her hair, not much has changed about Ashley. She still looks the same, her scent is the same as it always was, her attitude is still awful. In conclusion, she's still a dumpster fire.
You missed it.

She was originally assigned to Yurami to deliver her to the nearest base, but things changed once they got to know each other. She kept putting off turning her in, but her superiors were threatening to come after Yura if she didn't turn her in. She didn't feel like she had a choice anymore, so she turned them around during the battle with Casta. She was tortured by it while they walked, and just as they got there, she'd decided she couldn't do it. It was too late to turn back though, and the guards came and got her before she could take Yura and run. ))

Ashley hesitated, " I was told to bring you guys to the nearest base....but it changed when I started to get to know you guys. I actually had a family again. My superiors not threatening to come after you so at the battle where Casta was..I turned us around..but the whole way it trouble me and the moment we got close to the base I was going to grab you two and run but it was to late.. "
