Little pushed through the rest Visible, with a tiny crest A tiny hatchling which we blest. A shallow heartbeat And mama's body heat Her feathers smell so sweet Luring out a beggar's tweet. And when it's time to fledge They step out to a ledge The mesmerizing blooming hedge The outer world, I now emerge.. A neighbor soul, Who's feathers were dark like coal When hunting on the shoal They stole your heart just whole! Like birds, the time has flew A gentle wind has blew Returning to the nest You wish you both the best The eggs have been laid The duty's been paid It's time for you to fade All leave, be not afraid... |
