They took his hand, lifting it up to their cheek and leaning into it slightly so he could feel their skin. Her slitted pupils expanded in just the slightest, probably looking like a snake looking at its next meal. Her tail flicked in the water, making the surface ripple. They could feel eyes on them and the charmer but ignored it, never taking their eyes away from his. |

Ilia mused about how odd they looked for a second, but kept walking swiftly to keep up. Soon enough they were clear of the crowd and Ilia reached for a nearby bin to put the box of now eaten donuts in, pulling away from the train for a second before catching up again. Rihan, the trick rider, was waiting just near the back entrance and the animals looked up. Ilia stepped away from the horses, keeping a safe distance from them and the trick rider didn't even look up, apparently searching for something. |

They waved goodbye to the backstage worker and let Ilia pull them through the shortcut to the big top. They let her pull away, looking around the tent in awe. "Never gets old." They whispered, smiling. Astrid saw the trick rider's horses and pet ones muzzle, before following Ilia to the side away from the horses. "I wonder what shes looking for." They said, watching Rihan from a distance. |

She shrugged, peering to check around the workers backstage herself. "Probably where she's going next. I don't know where we're meant to be either. Maybe we'll be around the sides, maybe the Ringmaster wants someone in the main circle." Rihan Rihan eventually turned to Carys, "Side ring seems decent. I'll let the dogs do something to draw a little attention and keep the crowd happy until Sofia lets us know just what we're doing, hmm?" The mare bobbed her head and Rihan grinned, moving her little parade along. |

They make me really want to go to a circus. Also, I'd like my face to be held by a mermaid.)) Ringmaster Sofia Argent It was time. The big top was currently bright with flood lights and torches. Patrons flowed into the tent in a spiral, finding open seats and gazing upon the open dirt floor of the three ring circus in the center. Above the tent, the moon hit its apex in the sky. It rested above the show as if impaled by the topmost point of red and gold canvas. Suddenly, the circus itself grew darker. The floodlights went out. The Christmas lights dimmed. Even the torches who kept away the shadows seemed to shrink as if oxygen itself was growing scarce. Mist rolled in from under the flaps of the tent. The crowd had gone silent, careful to not break the strange magic here. Then, suddenly, the flood lights were back on! The crowd erupted in cheers as several spotlights found the slender form of Ringmaster Argent, top hat missing. Her raised arms were quickly and elegantly swept into a low bow. The three ring circus had begun. Clowns swelled in around her, juggling and honking and causing mischief. Some threw fire-lit torches in the center while Lotus led the charge into the audience, giving guests balloons and being silly. With a bit of slight of hand, Lotus produced a top hat from the stands and tossed it to his friend Sofia. She caught it easily, pressing the rim down at an angle to her forehead. Her voice boomed into the crowd, "Thank you everyone for visiting us tonight! We are the Evening Oddities, a Night Circus of the extraordinary!!" |

The rider was ready as the lights dimmed, then lit up to reveal Sofia's figure centre stage. A bow and Rihan gave the twin mares a command to run, sweeping through their side circle in a looping figure out, manes streaming and decor flashing as the lights caught it. "Aros..." Rihan whispered, watching for the hat. There! Lotus threw it, sailing over the crowds and Sofia swiped it form the air, pressing the hat to her forehead as Rihan moved Carys forward, leaping to her feet as she balanced atop the mare. The Ringmaster sent a booming welcome into the crowd and Rihan bowed extravagantly. -------------------- ((just gonna leave this so angel can decide what Astrid will do, then catch up to where Sofia and Rihan are!)) Ilia Back into their usual costumes, Ilia waited for Rihan to choose a ring before moving on, pulling Astrid with her to the other side. "You ready?" She whispered to her companion, waiting for the Ringmaster's welcome. Once the Ringmaster called out to introduce the group, she would drop her silks, a small lever by her side to release the net holding them and allowing the fabric to fall with her reach. Then Ilia would practically leap into it, climbing up enough for the full crowd to see her and wait for the cue to begin her small show. Usually they'd switch out after a bit, let everyone show off as they please. If no one came forward, they'd just find someone to go on again until the Ringmaster decided anything, and then they'd follow along. |

β Astrid β They nodded at Ilia's question, "ready as I'll ever be." They whispered, squeezing her hand before letting go so that she could start her show. They smiled as she climbed the silks. Astrid took a breath, stretching before rolling out and placing themself into a split, also waiting for the cue to begin their small show after Ilia's. They pulled a ribbon off of their wrist, tying their hair up so it wouldnt get caught on anything. γMorwennaγ She heard the roar of people at the big top, their tail moving excitedly in the water. "Oh! I want to see it so badly." They said, letting go of Zhangzi in favor of trying to see the tent. "Darn it." She frowned slightly, eyebrows furrowing. How was she supposed to get over there? |

They left the two performers to go about their own business, but would linger near the big top. Mono didn't have to, since it was the biggest attraction on the show grounds there would be a handful of staff on standby to make sure everything went smoothly. This was the new ringmaster's first show after all. Maybe it was worth keeping an eye on. [ Zhangzi ] He took a step away, being at a comfortable distance once again. The mermaid still hadn't earned his trust. "How do you suppose you'd do that?" He asked. |

She pouted slightly, "I'm not sure." She answered, sighing and returning her eyes to the snake charmer, noticing he had moved away again but not commenting. She didnt blame him for not trusting her, they had just met today after all. She sighed, "just another missed show because I'm stuck in a tank." |

Dark eyes examined the space around them both. What could be used to solve this problem? He had baskets for his snakes, but they were soft and not designed to carry humanoid beings within. He was quick to come up with a plan. "Excuse me." He dismissed himself, leaving the tent to retrieve the three items he needed; a trolley cart, a rectangular box and water. |
