Ilia nodded as Jamie listed what he had and eventually decided on just the glazed donuts, what Astrid had mentioned earlier. "Thank you!" She called out as they turned away, offering the small box to Astrid first. There were only four or so there but the crowd was heading to the big top, they didn't have time to have too many. Rihan Soon enough the small band of horses and dogs were around the back of the big top, a doorway wide enough for any staff or animals needing to pass through wide open before them. Rihan clicked the horses along, dogs following diligently at their heels. She paused where the rings separated, the silks and trapeze were likely set up but where was she due to be? |

[ Mono ] Everything seemed fine, at least from what they could see. Two individuals in a hurry caught their mismatched eyes, along with their attire. Weren't those acrobats? They definitely looked apart of the circus, but performers would usually stick to their designated areas, unless something had happened. It wasn't safe to assume, but Mono did subtly follow them from the sidelines. [ Zhangzi ] He eyed the mermaid curiously, what were they offering? To hold his face? Even if they were colleagues in a way, he wouldn't put his trust blindly into them and accept the offer. "For what reason?" He asked with a coy smile. |

They squealed, taking the box from Ilia gently, as if it were a fragile baby bird. "Thank you, Jamie!" They called back. They opened the box, taking a donut out and taking a bite out of it before letting out a groan of delight. They swallowed before talking, "it's so much better than I remember." Astrid grinned, taking another bite. 《Morwenna》 She thought for a moment before answering, "I want to see if your skin is as soft as it looks." They said bluntly, not even batting an eye. There was no reason really for them to lie, what they had told him was the truth. She kept her hands out in case he decided to let her. |

Ilia grinned, taking a donut of her own as they followed along with the crowd. The main tent wasn't far but with the teeming masses it took a while. Soon enough she had finished her first and picked up her second, sighing with contentedness. Noting how close they were to the tent, Ilia nudged Astrid sideways, pushing through the crowd. They couldn't very well enter with the crowd, they needed to get changed out of the warmer clothes and get ready for the main part of the night. |

The backstage worker was doubting their initial thoughts of the duo being apart of the circus. They'd have to ask, which wasn't an idea they were keen on. Mono could be stereotyped as the strong silent type, gentle giant or scary but shy categories. Just with less exaggeration, because they didn't consider themselves tall, strong, scary or anything really. To Mono, they were just an average being with nothing extraordinary. They managed to bump into the two they'd been watching, still eyeing them with an air of suspicious. "Where are you heading?" Mono asked. [ Zhangzi ] Would he really lose anything from allowing the mermaid to do as they pleased? It wasn't like Zhangzi to simply let others do what they wanted with him, not without a price of a plot behind it. He figured that if the aquatic being tried messing up his handsome face, his snake could do the same. His distrust wasn't really justified when the other's intentions were of pure heart. He moved back over, carefully resting his head in their hands. Even though his face was calm, there was a forced slowness to his movements. He was only trying to appear defenceless and trusting. |

The aerialist glanced up, grin falling into a flatter face. "Big top, of course. Just stopped for food before the main show, we were hungry." She shrugged, eyeing the other worker. Clearly backstage, if they didn't recognise the duo even covered up in warmer clothes, costumes out of sight. "That fine with you?" She asked, head tilted rather cockily, a little miffed Astrid and her run for sweets was interrupted. |

Astrid looked between Ilia and the backstage worker, picking up their second donut and slowly eating it while they watched the two. Yikes, obviously that backstage worker doesn't know who we are. They finished their donut, clearing their throat. "Hi! My name is Astrid and I'm the contortionist, and this is Ilia and she's the aerialist." They said, holding their hand out in a greeting. 《Morwenna》 She could tell that the snake charmer was cautious, she would be too. Well, not really but that doesn't matter. They smiled softly when he put his head in their hands, their thumbs slowly caressing the sides of his face. They chuckled, "it is as soft as it looks!" She said, her smile brightening immensely. |

Before they could ask another question, one if them gave their names to Mono. Yep, they knew who these two were. There wasn't much need for Mono to have face to face introductions, they were working in a different departments. "Hm, I recognise you two now." The white and black haired individual noted quietly, taking Astrid's hand although a bit roughly. "Snacking so close to showtime is a little risky. I'll make sure you get back." Mono said, moving out of the others way to direct them towards a shortcut. [ Zhangzi ] If he was enjoying the physical contact, he'd continue to be tricky and never tell. "Of course it is, I take very good care of myself." His ego meant be could be telling the truth but his history of deceitfulness also meant he could be lying. Zhangzi's looks were a rather big part of who he was, it was apart of his charm. He'd found that his crowd usually consisted of people who found him attractive, rather than an interest in the snakes. The sound of happy children outside caused his nose to crinkle up in a sour way, it only lasted a moment like a twitch. Children weren't his target audience, he'd stay away from them. |

The siren laughed, the sound jingling sweetly through the air. "Its good to take care of yourself." She said, her smile brightening. "Here, feel." They moved one of their hands away from his face, gesturing towards her face before replacing her hand on his face. The sound of childrens' laughter met her ears and she kept a straight face, although she wanted to call out to the children, Zhangzi interested her more than them. Her ocean blue eyes stayed trained on the snake charmer's. |

He surprisingly followed the instruction, reaching out a hand to feel what she wanted to show him. Morwenna had piqued his interest from the start, it'd be a shame to leave before he'd learnt everything he wanted to. From an outsider perspective, the pair of them probably looked a little odd. The snake was dead asleep by now, looking like a black scarf around his neck. It could be mistaken for his hair if it weren't for the soft shine of the reptiles scales. |
