Eleven said nothing to the alpha. They pushed past her and padded to their den. They had nothing to say to anyone, not right now. They couldn't hunt. They could only get plants that didn't help at all.

Shade furrowed her brows, what was wrong with them?
It turned and headed into camp, at least the hunters should be on their way back now. She followed Eleven to the medicine den.
It felt empty ever since the last healer had passed, and it wondered if it should assign Eleven an apprentice. Maybe they would be less lonely? Oh well, that won't happening soon anyways.
She stood in the entrance of the den, watching the younger wolf.

"What do you want?" Eleven growled, not turning to look at the alpha. They didn't want to deal with wolves. They'd just been traumatized by werewolves.

While munching the piece of fruit, Emma smiled and looked at the herbs Ilia said were arnica like her tea. She swallowed the mouthful before saying, "Oh that does look different! I'm learning something new Ilia." She happily popped another piece of fruit into her mouth and wiggled in delight.

"Okay, this should be fairly simple. Want us to get started?" She looked briefly at Esmeray and then back at Ilia. How cool; they both knew about herbs. Perhaps she should learn more too, then eventually the whole pack could be herbalists! Emma chuckled to herself at the thought.

Meanwhile, silent paws were meeting the earth in quick, rhythmic fashion, kicking up small clumps of dirt as his claws gripped the detritus beneath. Kaizen's eyes were narrowed and sweeping the trees as he searched for their hunting party. Their trail had been erratic today; the prey seemed to be giving them a run for their money. At some point he had picked up Eleven's scent, but upon following it he had discovered it crossed into neighboring territory before returning elsewhere.

So now, he was on his way back to their camp to report back to Shade. It would likely be displeased by his absence, but at least he had information to share. The forest became more familiar as he neared their home, and soon he was entering the clearing. His yellow eyes spotted movement near Eleven's den and he made his way over until scents of both the herbalist and Alpha wafted into his nose. "What do you want?" He heard Eleven snap. An authoritative growl rose from his throat and, lifting his tail he joined the two inside the den.

"One does not speak to the Alpha this way." He grumbled. Turning his eyes to Shade, he nodded his head. "Greetings, Alpha. Apologies for the interruption."

"Yes, my mother was very adamant that I learn about herbs in case being alpha didnt work out. But, as you can see it did. And I'm glad, because now you have the job." She answered.

Esmeray laughed slightly as Emma wiggled, "if only herb sorting was actually as simple as it sounds. At least, herb sorting with my mother was not as simple." Esme started moving around, smelling some of the different herbs as she went. "But yes, shall we get started. This should be fun." She smiled softly, stopping her searching to wait for Ilia's answer.

"I've just been nearly killed by werewolves while getting herbs, I think I have the right to be a bit irritable," Eleven spat, still not turning. The wolf's anger radiated off them in a heat that made the den warm.

Shade nodded at Kaizen, her muzzle shivering as her nose shifted a hue. "You carry no prey," it said quietly.
Turning to Eleven, it continued, "and you carry few herbs. Might I remind you both, our pack is many. You can both be easily replaced." Her eyes narrowed at Eleven, "and regardless of your irritation, you have no right to disrespect."
The pups are hungry. I will hunt alone, for now.
She turned around to leave, giving them both a solemn look. "I trust you won't disappoint me again."
It paused and continued, "especially you, Kaizen. You have much potential, I would hate to see you waste it."
With that, it left the camp, hoping to find some prey.

Eleven rolled their eyes. "I just risked my life twice to get tobacco and I don't even get thanked. You weren't even there when I brought two bundles of herbs back," They grumbled, busying themselves with sorting the herbs they had gathered.

Ilia smiled happily, glad they were both interested in her work. It was better than she expected, having two of her favourite people among her precious stores.

"I'm glad you're enjoying the fruits Emma, I'll be sure to keep them stocked more often! And at least for now, it should be fairly simple. I'll handle the rest after today, no need to pull you two away from anything more important." She replied, drifting towards some of the shelves with bundles looking like they were about to tumble right off.

Sola bounded along with a few other hunters, tongue lolling as he tracked the scents of their prey stored away. It was easier to store things near where they would be hunting instead of bringing it back to camp each time. Dropping into a slower trot and then right down to a walk he snuffled around the small pile of carcasses. A few moments of discussion later and soon the various feral pig, younger elk, and boar carcasses were being carried back. It wasn't a lot compared to usual, just one elk, only three pigs and two boars. Sola was sure it'd be enough for at least most of the pack, otherwise he'd go out himself and bring in what was needed.

Well, he didn't have much of a choice anyway! What the Alpha said was law, and who was he to disrupt the pack's order?

The group made their way back to camp, Sola and another 2 hunters trailing along behind to pull the elk back. Hopefully Shade wouldn't be too mad they had stayed out longer, despite the warm summer day there was very little to be found... oh well. Hopefully it'd see their efforts and be willing to let their somewhat unsuccessful hunt pass by with not much more than a scolding.

Esmeray started sorting the herbs, humming as she did so. Every now and then she would ask a question, get the answer and then go back to sorting. But she knew most of the herbs, so for the most part. She did fine.

----------

Meanwhile, Cosette bounded out of the nursery, missing a step and rolling head over heels into the clearing. She squealed as she rolled, letting out a sharp breath through her nose when she landed to get the dust out. The pup stood up, shaking herself off and looking around the clearing. She was bouncing on her paws as she looked, itching for some new type of mischief.

She saw multiple other wolves in the area, the Alpha, the Beta, Sola, who was just now entering camp, and Eleven. "Hmmmmm.." She thought out loud, her tail wagging in the tiniest motions. "I choose..... Sola." Cosette stumbled forward, prancing her way over to the hunter. She dropped down into a wobbly crouch, shaking her behind and jumping up to land on Sola with a battle cry.
