James kinda chuckled a little, "They can't be that hard to use." He said as he was handed the chopsticks. He soon started trying to use them, determined to not use the fork. Though, after the 10th time of trying to use chopsticks he finally gave up. He grumbled under his breath as he put the chopsticks down. He picked up the fork and used it, so he was finally able to eat.
I'm watchin' a show rn, so I might pop off from time to time ))
Karlie tried not to laugh, but it was impossible. "Not that hard to use, right?" He teased, already half way done with his food. He'd turned his phone off earlier, and it was now sitting face down on the table next to his bowl. He'd noticed the staff staring at them from time to time, but he knew they were just curious. It had been a loooong time since he'd brought anyone with him, and they'd heard quite a bit about James over the past few months.
James rolled his eyes again and grumbled. He continued eating his food with a fork, but he only managed a few bites. He swallowed a little as he sat there for a few moments. After a moment though, James shifted his weight. His hands shook a little and he took in a breath. "I need to go to the restroom..i-i'll be back"
Karlie looked over at James, getting a bad feeling about it. He shook his head slightly as he spoke, "James. . don't." He muttered quietly in case the staff were being nosy again. He reached down with one hand and intertwined their fingers, silently praying James wasn't trying to do anything stupid. If he was as bad as Karlie thought he was, then it wouldn't be smart to let him go.
"K-karlie. I-I'm not joking." He said as he felt his face become a little paler. It happened every time he ate...that horrible nauseous feeling. He got sick almost every time he ate, and he felt the fatigue that was building up. He took his hand from Karlie, "P-please. I-I don't wanna get sick, i-in front of the staff"
Karlie thought for a moment before speaking. He could tell James wasn't kidding, but he didn't want to let him go alone. "Come on." He stood up and got out of the booth, walking over to the other side and taking James' hand gently. He walked through the aisle to the bathroom, giving Ari a look so that she'd know not to come in.
The moment they were in the bathroom, James got sick. He was shaking, and he closed his eyes tightly. He knew it was stupid...the fact this was happening, but it happened after every time he ate. He knew the real reason behind it, but it still didn't make him feel better. He would originally get sick, to keep his body from gaining weight but now...he wasn't even forcing himself. It got to the point James was almost scared to eat cause he couldn't even eat a bite or two before he got sick.
Karlie ran a hand up and down James' back, seeming almost terrified for him. He tried to keep his concern hidden, but it was getting harder and harder to hide. After a few moments of silence, Karlie pulled James back and flushed the toilet. He walked over to the paper towel dispenser and took one, wiping James' face as he sat down with the other. They'd both just been sitting on the floor for a few minutes when Karlie sighed. "I don't know how to help, Jamie. I need you to tell me what I should do. Y-You didn't tell me this happens when you eat." He muttered, sounding worried.
James had his head back against the wall. He swallowed a little and he felt his body still shaking. He didn't respond at all at first, but he soon did. "I.....used to force myself.. T-to get sick after I ate... B-but now, my body isn't does it..I-I can't eat a few bites of food with out g-getting sick." He said as he rested his head on Karlie's shoulder. "I'm ok.....y-you don't need to worry...everything is fine"
Karlie nearly cursed out loud, but he managed to keep it in his head. James didn't need to deal with his temper right now. "Fine?! Jamie, throwing up every time you eat is not fine. Being unable to take more than three bites isn't fine. You are not fine." He told him, sitting up a little. "I-" He hesitated, worried his word choice might backfire on him. "I want to take you to urgent care. They can give you some anti-nausea medication. Th-This isn't something that can wait, James." He sighed, sounding entirely serious.
