How to deal with G5? πŸ€”

How to deal with G5? πŸ€”

So I'm hearing that for most people value plummets once a wolf reaches G5. My main interest here is designing pairs to compliment each other, and then watching how their appearance changes over time as lineages merge. Bases and marks that don't pass are added back on based on what the parents had. I invented my own art based dog breeding simulation where each dog has a full genotype with 4 possible genes per locus instead of the "either or" you get from each slot here. I've spent 200-300 GC to add TII base and 10 marks, to remind me of my science-based game.

I don't mind waiting for them to raise stats over generations. I'll let popular studs in the gene pool once, and it's not hard for me to keep track so no inbreeding happens. I'm not desperate to sell, but it's kind of sad to think my lines will just get "more worthless" every generation. Feels backwards from how you progress in a real breeding program.

What do you do with wolves after G5?

Not everyone hates long lineages. I'm still able to sell off my extra pups, even though my younger wolves are up to G7 now. I sold their brother for 10+GC. High stats helps a lot with getting potential buyers interested. It will be harder to sell a lower statted wolf with a long lineage, but I would still try, especially if he/she has a nice appearance. Some players value that above all.

I hope so. I've done some buying/breeding based on stats, but I also want to be picky about marks being harmonious. Really wish I'd been here at the start when everything was more even.

I actually like long lineages. I love seeing the family history, maybe recognizing famous studs of the past. I understand some folks like short lineages because it's easier to keep them from getting Inbred, and there is nothing wrong with that, but it takes something special away from a wolf, you know? I'll also state that my stud is a seventh gen boy and people still request for him. :)

Nice. I will sometime do a series of "generations themed" portraits, so it's a plus for me too.

I've just sold two G6 pups for 577 . I believe LB pups are worth a lot regardless of generation.

Interesting. I never remember the leader board exists. Maybe that should be featured more prominently.

I encourage you to compete. Being a monopolist in this aspect I feel kind of lonely here.

I value the leaderboard too. I check it every so often to see if my wolves have made it. My previous hunting team was one there and I was crazy proud.

I'm a bit too attached to aesthetic breeding I think. Might get more interest if a spot on the leader board gave a wolf a badge or something so everyone could see. Last game I played did that.
