I think as far as the market goes, a longer lineage can be forgivable if the wolf is very aesthetically pleasing, has decent stats and is not inbred. I can understand how right now people really value low generations as it can be easier to ensure no inbreeding, but in my honest opinion I feel that sticking strictly to 5 generations or less when going NIB takes away the challenge of going NIB. |

My main interest here is designing pairs to compliment each other, and then watching how their appearance changes over time as lineages merge. @Leonca I feel this a lot. In fact, you were the one who inspired me to pay closer attention to which markings are passed on to the pups between my bonded pairs, something which will make my bloodlines even more rich in lore than they already are. And like yourself, I'm very attached to aesthetic breeding and watching wolves change appearance from generation to generation. The anticipation of seeing how my pairbond's new pups will turn out is one of the most satisfying aspects of this game for me, even more so than breeding to outside studs. I intend to keep all of my named bloodlines going for as long as possible  Other than that, I do not discriminate between low-gen and high-gen. In fact, I have a soft spot for high-gen studs, which are far and few in between. I understand low-gen and NBW when wanting to create a new private lineage, but other than that I think they're a tad overrated. I have one wolf who is 20th Generation and honestly I think that's so cool, and she is NIB at all. I would love to go higher, maybe even to 100 one day without a single instance of inbreeding. At that point I think there should be a leaderboard spot for longest NIB family trees. I would totally participate. People would be much more incentivised to breed higher gens if the stats improved over generations as well, but that's a different issue. Personally, I value high-gen and low-gen wolves equally. |

Glad to hear it.  I just made a plan to match 2 pups from some of my longest lines since none of their popular studs intersect. Pups from that pairing will be G15. I wish looks had a bigger impact. I can hardly sell anything since no one seems to operate like I do. I'll buy a wolf with 1 good mark and give it a total design. People seem to want everything good as-is, which is hard when marking breeding projects take several generations.
