The Light Hounds pack began from two young individuals, Golden Sun and Blue Lightning. Given a task by her ancestors, Golden Sun and her mate have settled in the deep conferious forest. Seperated from their previous packs the two will now have to fend for themselves and be independent. The Light Hounds are to be rivaled by their cousin pack, The Wintertooth Stalkers.

Late Summer, Year 1

Year 1 of Golden Sun's Reign

My Grandmother, Nessie, came down from the Royal's Rose garden along with another wolf I do not know. The stranger wolf was called Prophet. They had a third eye in their skull that sent chills down my spine. My Grandmother however seemed calm beside the wolf. They were apparently a great aunt of my grandmother. My grandmother explained to me what Prophet had seen in my future. I was to be subjected to a bit of an experiment along with a cousin of mine. Nessie tells me how her bloodline is meant to be the strongest. Her bloodline is the only bloodline that remains from the starters of our pack. While we may not be purebloods we still hold Volks bloodline. Though she warns me to not trust Bandit for he has no heirs and will likely want to eliminate the last of the half bloods. I am told I will be paired with a stranger deemed worthy of me. Chosen by a neutral party, great aunt Chestnut. Nessie tells me to focus on strength. 

I have meet my mate, his name is Blue Lightning. He hails from a strong pack. It seems his sibling was also chosen for my cousin. They must wish to see which bloodline will out preform the other. Will it be Creampuff's blood, or my own mother's Sunset. I do not know why they even wish to compare. My mother and her brother were very close. He even chose her to be his beta when he ruled. But I suppose now that they are dead and gone they are curious of who should continue. Currently my older sister Chilling Warmth is covering leadership duties for our dying pack.

Early Autumn, Year 1

Year 1 of Golden Sun's Reign

It's been a struggle being away from my family. We had managed to recruit a wolf into our newly found pack but even with the extra help we have struggled in hunting. Out of the four hunts we performed, we never successfully caught the prey. Hopefully today will be different and we will find another wolf to help us out.

Me and Blue Lightning are still trying to get used to each other. This isn't exactly a love at first sight kind of deal. It's an arranged marriage. But I must say, Great Aunt Chestnut picked a good one. I'm not exactly the most focused type. I'm on the lazy side, but Blue Lightning is dutiful. He knows what needs to get done and helps keep me in check.

Early Autumn, Year 1

Yesterday we managed to recruit a new wolf into our pack. I must say though even without their help in hunts we had better success than even our rival pack. We didn't have good luck our first day but yesterday we caught 2 prey. Its certainly an improvement from where we first were.

Me and Blue Lightning finally had our vows and are officially mated alphas. Unfortunately though my heat had just passed right before. So our pack will not be receiving any pups any time soon now. But there is always next time. I have heard though my cousin and his mate are expecting. I mildly worry about their jump start on us. Even though I am the most experienced out of us both, Casper seems to be just luckier somehow.

Late Autumn, Year 1

Year 1 of Golden Sun's Reign

Nothing eventually happened yesterday. We finally managed to catch a piece of prey which is better than our lack of prey in the beginning. I must say I was expecting to be better off than my cousin's pack. Yet he seems to be doing better than us. They caught more prey and now have pups. I'm not sure what I am doing wrong. I have the most experience yet I feel as if I am failing.

Blue Mountain has been comforting me about my thoughts of failure. He is a good mate. At least I was lucky on that front to get a good wolf. I suppose he is right, this is only the beginning and I shouldn't judge myself so early on. He believes I should wait a year before judging our two packs so closely. It sounds a bit hard to do but I suppose I should try. Besides it won't be too much longer until I can have pups. Whether it be winter or spring, they will come.

Mid Winter, Year 1

Year 1 of Golden Sun's Reign

During the beginning of winter, heavy snowfall occurred. Luckily the pines around our home caught a majority of it. I am not used to being this cold I must admit. Back home I had more wolves to share a nest with for warmth. Our pack is trying to adjust by doing a similar thing. 

Blue Mountain insists that we must press forward. This is one of the most defining moments in the start of a pack. Surviving winter. If we can do such a thing we will likely survive more to come. I really must say constantly how thankful I am that he is my mate.

Mid Winter, Year 1

Year 1 of Golden Sun's Reign

We had a rather surprising hunt record yesterday. We took down our first elk, a large prey. I was excited by the kill. We are the first pack to gain such an achievement, and in winter too! It really raised the Morales of the pack. 

Blue Mountain and I believe near the end of winter is when we will try to have pups. We will be late with having them compared to our rival pack, but hopefully they will be born in a nicer environment. I've already heard the news one of theirs had passed away due to the cruel winter.

Late Winter, Year 1

Year 1 of Golden Sun's Reign

Our pack continues to do well even in winter. We managed to catch half of our prey yesterday resulting in three small victories. I believe we will pass the first test as my mate describes it as. We've really been learning a lot during these first few months of our pack life. 

I found Blue Mountain in an empty sector in the forest we call home. He had a smile on his face as he calmly told me spring was on its way. He was already seeing some of the first sprouts of life appear out of thinner layers of snow.

Late Winter, Year 1

Year 1 of Golden Sun's Reign

I suppose we must've been too cocky these past few days because yesterday we couldn't catch a single piece of prey. It was embarrassing. But something happened over the night. Disaters seem to be happening, I even heard there was an earthquake where my old pack lives.

The disaters are appreantly not the only thing that's happening. Strange creatures seem to be coming out that I've never seen before. Blue Lightning believes we should proceed with caution. I'm not sure why though, they don't seem....Unfriendly? They just look a bit ugly if I'm being honest.
