Kaia sighed and headed out the door, locking it behind her. She didn't want to leave Eva home alone, but if she didn't go into work, she'd be flagged immediately. All up to you, babe! It would be kinda fun, but it also might be a little too early for something that dramatic :/ )) |

Potatoes are evil. I've been betrayed. >:,| )) Kaia had showed up to work at the same time she normally would have, just acting like nothing had happened. Kaitlyn had pretended Kaia had left early, and they hadn't discussed it since. It was almost time for her to go home when Kait finally pulled her aside in the bathroom. "Kaia, what's happening? You've been acting weird, so I covered for you, but I can't keep doing that." Kait seemed concerned. "I can't explain it all right now. Just trust me, and keep saying I left early yesterday, okay?" She gave her a pleading look, hoping it would be enough to convince her. "Kaia, you know I can't do that. Either you tell me, or I tell them." She crossed her arms, seeming serious. ". . I used too many nanos again. They'll give me another violation if they find out." She sighed, sounding legit. "Wait, seriously?! Kaia, I've told you before to limit your intake!" Kait suddenly seemed worried rather than angry. "Of course I'll cover for you, dumbass. Just don't scare me like that again!" She sighed, punching Kaia lightly in the arm. As much as Kaia hated lying to her, she couldn't tell her about the memories, and she definitely couldn't tell her about Eva. The rest of the day seemed to go by in a blur, and she was on her way home in the blink of an eye. No one seemed to suspect anything, which was incredibly lucky. She just kept playing it off like she'd left early, and didn't change the lie at all. If anyone noticed a difference in her story, she was done for. |

Eva had come up with an idea. She had grabbed every single blanket in the house and had made a giant pile of them in the floor. She curled up in them and piled some on top of her. She was completely buried |

Kaia unlocked the door and came inside, seeming tired. She saw the massive pile of blankets on the floor, and almost burst out laughing. She could just barely see the tip of Eva's tail poking out from underneath them. Her day had been stressful, but for some reason, seeing that made it ten times better. She walked over to mount blankets and sat down next to it, a soft smile on her face. "Knock knock- Anyone home?" She asked, almost as if she was talking to a kid hiding in their fort. |

The tip of Eva's tail began to wag making a thumping noise on the floor. She didn't poke her head out yet, but she did move a little. When she did, the tip of her ears poked out. |

Awhh- She's a puppy. Well no shit? She laughed a little and put her hand on Eva's head, messing with her hair a little bit. "I'm glad one of us had a good day." She sighed, sounding a little upset again. |
