Kaia had been ready to yell at her, but her anger quickly faded into worry and fear. Why do you care for her? She shook her head slightly and sat up, observing Eva for a moment to decide her next course of action. She hesitantly scooted forwards and sat next to her, making sure to leave a few inches between them, just in case. Without really thinking, Kaia reached up and put her hand on Eva's head, just stroking her hair. It felt familiar somehow, but by the time she realised she was doing it, it was already too late to stop. |

Eva flinched a little at the touch but it felt familiar to her...in some way. She instantly pressed up against Kaia, her ears pinning back slightly, and the tip of her tail wagged a little. "I'm sorry...I didn't mean to attack you...." |

Kaia was going to pull away, but instead just kept messing with her hair. "It's alright. I know you weren't trying to hurt me." She sighed, still seeming a little irritated. "Who did you think I was.?" She asked, trying not to bring up anything that might upset her. Even though it was a sensitive topic, she needed to know. |

Eva swallowed a little, curling closer to Kaia. "Head whitecoat....he always brings pain..." She muttered closer her eyes tightly. Her tail curled around Kaia, almost in a protective way. |

Kaia noticed Eva's tail, but she didn't say anything. ". . I need to know what they did to you, Eva. You don't have to tell me now, but it's important. My memories are coming back in fragments, and the government has been lying about their genetics testing. I jsut want to understand what's happening, and why they've been lying to us." She noticed the bandage on Eva's forehead, and traced her fingers over it. (Not sure if the bandage is actually there lol, but that's what was in the picture) |

Also for the bandage, maybe during the latest testing, Eva got injured that could be from all the bandages)) "They..... The test were painful...and the head white coat...he hated me, because.... I would attack most anyone who came into the cage... The punishments weren't good.." |

Kaia sighed and nodded. She still had questions, but Eva wouldn't be able to answer any of them. After a moment, she stood up and walked to her room, grabbing a blanket off the bed before coming back out. "Here. I forgot to give you this earlier." She told her, holding out the blanket. Eva seemed somewhat confused, so she just unfolded the blanket and laid it out around her shoulders. "You use it when you sleep." She told her as she stood back up and walked to the kitchen. She poured another cup of coffee and began taking mental notes. She doesn't remember me either, so if we knew each other at any point, it was pre-reset. I could probably find out more if I had her file, but that would mean learning where they keep the test subjects' files. I don't have clearance, so I'd be screwed if they found out I was in there. She mumbled something under her breath, leaning over on the counter and putting her head in her hands. |

She swallowed and got on the couch, curling up again. Her ears flicked a little, and she buried herself under the blanket. She went completely silent, her tail sticking out from under the blanket |

Kaia considered plugging an insomnia nano, but decided that she couldn't trust anything the government was issuing them. She sighed and walked back to her room, leaving the door cracked. "Let's get this shit show started." She muttered, turning on her laptop and entering a private search engine. Around an hour later, she was completely drained. Everything she'd searched for had been a dead end, and she was running out of ideas. She was going to go change into pajamas, but everything in her closet felt wrong. She had pastel collared T-Shirts, black leggings, white button ups, or grey sweat pants. Nothing else. She almost felt sick to her stomach, but she had no idea why. These were the clothes she liked . . right.? |
