TW: Lots of mentions of Death / Depression / Loneliness This is Ikette! She's an older wolf who's spent her entire life being able to hear the words of the Goddess of Death, Kiterria. She was the only surviving pup of her mom's previous two litters, and her mother was a very depressed wolf for some time. She struggled making friends, because she would constantly blurt out how they would die (because Kiterria would blurt it out to her). As she grew older, she began talking back to Kiterria with disdain, which made her even more of a loner as the wolves around her thought she was crazy and benign. She did succeed in making one friend, though, which was Timeryss! She also developed a huge crush on a wolf named Hokey. When Haigor joined the pack, however, he immediately saw that she was special and could hear the words of Lady Death herself, and he began to speak to her to find out what linked them together. Ikette eventually learned how to ignore Kiterria and make friends, but only after Haigor taught her how. The two have remained close friends since! link |

Thought I'd work with Fhaurl since I named + accessorised her yesterday. CW: mentions of death + murder ---
second daughter of Lauhap, Fhaurl doesn't quite have the touch of the beyond that has run through her family for so long. she doesn't much mind; normalcy is underrated, and she's only ever wanted to hunt.

Eri! I love the inclusion with your goddess of death! I can imagine how thinking you're going crazy would make you a bit of an outsider within your pack. Weasel! I love. everything about this. I also love the subtle inclusions of other events in your lore -- like Luen an Hær's betrayal. It definitely makes me wanna know more abt ur world + the events within it! Especially that final line.. holy shit.. ➝ a new challenge is up! :D Write a story about two characters without any dialogue. How do they act when nobody else is around to overhear them? |

Nuarie entered the den, her paws thumping against the ground dully as she lied down in her nest. Her mind whirred away, thinking about the things Haigor had said, about the wolves from the Pack of Frozen Stones, fear pounding in her heart. Was it really true? Were they really going to try it? She lifted her head when the sound of paws scuffed the dirt, and her eyes met Toda's as he ducked into the den. Nuarie couldn't bring herself to speak, afraid to ask what they said, to know how her pack hated her. Instead, the wolf approached her and gently nuzzled her cheek, curling up beside her. She pressed close against him, letting his breathing lull her into a trance, as she leaned her head onto his shoulder, breathing in his scent. She found herself relaxing, the thoughts starting to fade and dull, as she felt sleep drifting along the edge of her mind. Toda leaned over and nudged her gently, and she pulled away to meet his gaze. He stared at her intently, his eyes glowing in the dim light, his ear twitching as he waited for something from her; a sign, maybe, that she was okay. She dipped her head, lowering her ears before pressing her nose into his cheek, earning a huff as a response as he shifted to lick her ear comfortingly. She let him do so without moving, instead closing her eyes and letting herself drift mindlessly through her head. It was moments like these that reminded her of how much she cherished his support. He wouldn't ask questions. He wouldn't pry, or demand anything from her. He just... Listens. |
