(( Holy shit- I wasn't expecting that, but EPIC- ))

*Astrid heard him hang up, which only panicked her more. She continued pretending like she was having a conversation, just long enough to get to the gas station. The people behind her, however, had other plans.*
"Oh, yeah! That'd be grea-"
*She suddenly felt a hand on her shoulder, so she spun around and swung, landing a blow directly to the man's nose.*
"Ah shit- This bitch. ."
*He growled, but she didn't waste any time. She sprinted straight for the gas station, not even bothering to look back. She knew for a fact that there was no one working there right now, but Tom always forgot to lock up before closing. She opened the doors and ran inside, getting behind the counter and grabbing the gun Tom kept taped to the underside of it. She refused to use her powers, so this was the next best option.*
"Shit- Where'd he put those goddamn keys?!"
*She muttered, looking around for the keys to lock the doors. It wasn't long before she saw the same three men approaching. Two appeared human, but the third was a strongarm. The same man she'd just punched in the face. Oh for fuck's sake-*

*An eerie silence filled the area, other then Astrid freaking out, the night held a soft chilling breeze, that carried tiny, barely lit embers with it, one man smelled smoke, the other felt watched and the third was too stupid to realize one of his companions staring at what seemed to be a dark corner, then a bone chilling laugh filled with absolute madness cut through the silence like a knife through butter, it caused the men to gather closely together, wondering who or what was the cause of this, regardless it shook them to the very core, then without warning, something shot out from the dark corner and with fiery claws struck one of the men, he screamed out in agony as his clothes caught fire, he dropped to the ground and rolled around hysterically, desperately trying to put out the flame, the men were in a panic, forgetting Astrid, but for how long?*

*Astrid swore she heard laughter somewhere, but she couldn't tell where at first. She glanced out the windows to find that one of the men was on fire, and the other two were in a panic. Cress. She thought, unsure of how he'd gotten here so fast. She couldn't see him, but that wasn't her main concern right now. She needed to get out of there. Fast. She knew it was only a matter of time before they remembered she was in here, so she had to take advantage of their temporary distraction.*
"If I were tom, where would I keep the bullets?"
*She mumbled, realising the gun was empty. She searched around in the drawers for a moment before finding a small ammunition box. She loaded the gun like. . someone had taught her, and then ducked behind the counter. She didn't want to leave Cress alone out there, but she didn't think she could handle a fight with how bad her nerves were right now. She was still panicking, despite her best efforts to calm herself. She'd never really worked well under pressure, so giving her a gun probably hadn't been the brightest move.*

*Smoldering pillars of fire shot up, and screams could be heard, as the male who had been rolling on the ground finally burned to death, one of the men heard an odd noise, only to turn around, revealing Cress had latched himself onto the other's backside, his feet dug into their lower back while his hands forced the male to tilt his head to the side, blood dripping from his opened mouth as Cress started eating his neck, tearing out all the juicy, bloody arteries, and his eyes were fixated on the male in front of him, the male who was now stumbling backwards and made a run for it, leaving the bloodthirsty fool alone with his food*

*Astrid stood up the moment she heard screams, and quickly realised what was happening. Fuck- She ran outside, unsure of what to do.*
"C-Cress! Stop it!"
*She stammered out, holding the gun out with shaking hands. KiLLLllLllL HiM~ She shook her head, nearly dropping the pistol. There was so much blood that it was overwhelming, and she could hardly stand the sight of it. You know that smell, don't youuuuuu~? The voice taunted her, and she could feel tears streaming down her cheeks. It had been years since she'd seen anything like this, and it kept bringing up memories she'd been working hard to forget and bury. Forget. Forget. Forge-

*The male Cress has latched onto fell forward, he continued feeding and swiftly tore out his spine with a loud snap, once he was satisfied he stood up, then snapped, all the flames vanished and he tilted his head at the gun, his mouth was covered in blood, he slowly made his way over to Astrid, allowing the gun to press against his bare, blood stained chest*
"Go ahead, shoot, Cress doesn't regret a thing, why should he? But first tell Cress this…"
*He reached a head over to the side of Astrid's face, his fingers gently massaging her temple, he looked at her with gentle, calming orange, yellow eyes*
"Did..did they hurt you? Please, please tell Cress he made it in time"
*His bottom lip quivered a little, he was so concerned with Astrid's well being that the mere thought of her baring any form of injuries terrified him more then getting shot*

*Astrid flinched, backing away from him into the wall of the gas station. It had been years since she'd seen this much blood, and all she could think about was how it had been her fault last time. She stayed up against the  wall, keeping the gun pointed at him, even though she'd probably miss if she tried to shoot anyways.*
"I didn't mean to- I won't do it a-again!"
*She muttered quietly, though, she didn't seem to be talking to Cress. All she could see were the flashes in her mind, haunting her. These were memories she'd been trying to bury for years, and they were all resurfacing in an instant.*

*Cress' eyes flickered, oddly enough times like these were the only times he felt calm and in control, simply because the fiber of his being took pleasure in the beautiful carnage, he scanned the area and burned the bodies, he stood there watching the flames swallow each corpse then would make them vanish like he had always done, he slowly went over to Astrid and felt terrible, he only wanted to help, then his eyes went to the gun, he kneeled down in front of her and gently pulled the gun out, pushed the safety on, popes out the magazine, then threw the gun in one direction and the magazine the other, he then tilted his head as he scanned Astrid's face, but didn't say anything*

*Astrid closed her eyes tightly, refusing to watch as the bodies burned. She hadn't meant to freak out like this, but she couldn't stop now that she had started. He's going to find out. He'll ask questions. You don't have answers for any of them. Let me do it.        No, you'll hurt him.      Just let me take over. I can make it all disappear.*
"No. Don't hurt him-"
*She uttered quietly to herself, opening her eyes just barely. She saw that the bodies weren't there anymore, but Cress was still standing there covered in blood. He's a monster, too. Just let me take over and fix this.*

*Cress looked down at his hands and decided to head into the restroom where he tried to wash the blood off, the water boiled the moment it touched his skin and took the longest time to even manage a speck of blood off him, but he managed to, he then slowly made his way back to Astrid, he knew there was something wrong, and to never ask questions, so rather he sat in front of her*
"Sorry…Cress didn't mean to trigger anything..negative.."
*He looked down and took some deep breaths, then looked at Astrid once more*
"Cress panicked, didn't want you getting hurt, he doesn't regret anything that happened though, because at least now, that stumbling idiot will make it clear to leave you the hell alone"
*He sat up, then his face turned somber*
"Cress understands if you never want to see his face again…."
*His voice dropped, then his bottom lip started to quiver*
"L-let Cress walk you home first! Then Cress will make sure you never see him again…"
*He looked at Astrid with pleading eyes, it was evident that all he really cared about was her safety, even if he would never see her again*
