"Only items that have a Remnant component can be shredded You will get the equivalent number of uses of Food or Amusement in Meat Scraps or Amusement Scraps, as well as the remnant." New (Above text) "If you wish to shred any non-remnant Amusement or Food Item Click the box" [ ] "Note this may eat up items that could potentially be valuable In the future, We only suggest shredding common Items" Why?, Why not! I want to be able to shred my common amusement Items so I can group everything into amusement scraps, I do not care about getting remnants but the shredding feature Is super handy and more items should be accessible when It comes to items. Another thing Is Food! While bison carcasses are nice I would love to shred 10+ Carcasses and use meat scraps, But sadly at the moment "Meat scraps" are useless as you can only get them from a select few carcasses/eggs, Muskrat is currently the largest item that can be shred only providing four scraps. Why would I click on my 10 meat scraps when I could eat from 28 use bison carcasses? But If I could shred those bison carcasses my feeding would go much quicker as I would have a 100+ stack of food! I currently have over 4000 amusement that Is "Useless" as the introduction of remnants have made people only buy amusement scraps! |

However, I don't think it was supposed to stop the plans of making all the food processable. Moreover, I feel even more convinced to agree with this idea. While those who apply carcass-only diet might not mind this change since it would be optional, it would be much of convenience to other users. I'd be happy to see how the food market would behave, where meat scraps would be commonly sold and carcasses could be considered premium food. Food sellers might consider more approaches to how they sell food - in meat scraps or carcasses. It would make carcasses less common in the TC but it might feel more rewarding to hunt for and eat carcasses as they consume something that not everywolf is worthy of eating. And also, it would help converting those tiny carcasses into something of higher number of uses, as it was mentioned here. Why would you put on trade 100 items of 4-use critter carcasses if you can shred the food into 40 items and also put other 60 items? |

Not to mention with the amount of amusement scraps now while effectively being the same thing there a bit saturated in the market (to a degre) and are usually priced a bit cheaper. Weirdly yesterday I went to list some amusement trades and was surprised to see only 3 pages of trades up what Is quite low for how much amusement some people are hoarding now, Like I myself have over 14000. |

The numbers are mostly weird to the human brain. I know it's not really that hard to add them up, but when trying to list your food to the TC in neat 50/100/200 bundles, it is a pain to sit there and try to do the math. Adding all carcasses to scaps would allow people to make neat bundles of Meat Scraps and sell food much easier, without really affecting gameplay or the market. It might bring on some more sellers if the process is made easier, but I can't see that being enough to affect the market prices dramatically. |

And I'm not sure why people consider food scraps to be "processed"? It's not like we're using chemicals or preservatives; it's the same meat, just torn into smaller pieces with teeth and claws. It can't be any more unnatural than wolves somehow knowing how to mix and store medicines. |

To illustrate: Dall Sheep Carcass has 17 uses and sells to the raccoon for 9 SC. Elk Cow Carcass also has 17 uses, and sells for 11 SC. Rat Carcass has 1 use and sells for 3 SC, while Turtle Eggs have 3 uses but also only sells for 3 SC. Jackrabbit Carcass has 3 uses and sells for 4 SC. I don't have any single-use meat scraps in my hoard right now, but I had 2 rabbit carcasses, so I shredded one and kept one. Rabbit Carcass has 4 uses, trades to the raccoon for 5 SC. That same carcass, shreds into a 4 use meat scraps. Meat Scraps with 4 uses sell to the raccoon for 12 SC - meaning you more than double your payout from the raccoon just by shredding it first. If you could shred all your meat, and get 3 SC per use, which is a fairly average price per use of food on the trading center right now (between 2 - 5 SC per use from what I can see) why bother selling to other players and having to set up a trade and wait for it to sell when you could just sell it to the raccoon in a few clicks and have an instant payout? I know the raccoon has a limit on how much SC he offers per day, but it's high enough that if you're making bundles of 100 uses of food, it could take nearly an entire trade each day. Assuming that you can trade in roughly 230 SC worth of items, that's roughly 75 uses of food at 3 SC per use. So, unless people who sell food on the trading center are getting well over 100 uses per day, it may still cause a decrease in food for sale or an increase in the price of food for sale. The option for that would be to decrease the price per use of meat scraps, but I don't think any food item sells for below 3 SC right now, so I'm not sure how that will go over with the player base or if it would require modifying the code in some way. |
