She stopped laughing immediately, the memory pulled up was her last birthday. She was by herself, no parents, to any family, no gifts, no beautiful food, just her sitting in the corner of her room with her knees hugged tight to her chest, tears slid down her face, just a singular candle lighting up the room, the family dog lie dying near her.

Anger and almost resentment to the memory boiled up inside her.
"They should have been there for me, but they weren't. They only care about themselves… The are nothing but selfish children undeserving of a child of their own." A few tear built up in her eyes and she tried to blink them away.
