Hi devs!

I think it'd be neat if the Herbalist had more stuff to do, like tending a garden! I would imagine that you start out with one garden plot where you can grow a herb of your choice and harvest from it, given that you water it regularly. As the Herbalist becomes more proficient or levels up, they unlock more garden plots.

This suggestion comes from a little frustration over the 3 to 1 herb exchange, since I always seem to be missing one particular type of herb. I think a small garden feature would also curb the frustration of relying on random forage or random Explore encounters to find herbs.

A feature like this would require some balancing, as some herbs are naturally rarer than others/are used in more recipes than others. Maybe tobacco might require a longer grow time than something more common, like oregano? This feature would also drive down the prices of herbs and medicines in TC, but am not sure of the consequences of that.

I don't think it would require any new art to be made, this is mostly code based. The existing herb sprites would be enough! Some writing would be required and perhaps a new Tala quest for the garden specifically?
