water wyverns: nesting cave water wyverns: adol cave In order for the babies to not be feasted on/learn how to swim/get their own food, before they've grown their adult feathers, they jump off the cliff into the water below, flapping their wings to get far enough away from the rocks below. The parents follow them and teach them to hunt as well. Maybe it could be something like that? (The water would just be there to keep falling hatchlings safe -) - bleu storm dragons being very showy and such, would line their nests with the pelts of the kills - usually cured (skinned/sealed to avoid rot) by their rider - and yeah, water dragons are all fairly chill so they have the whole clutch with others they vibing but storm wyverns are more solitary when it comes to eggs - once they've hatched then they'll be more social. there's a massive tree trunk (the rest of the tree now lost, its held in place by basically being welded to the top and bottom of the cavern) with lots of holes in it. similar to your idea, it is surrounded by water incase anything falls and fitting into the storm thing when they race across the water or their lightning hits the water it ofc turns to steam and hits the roof, dripping down like rain. - phrog storm wyvern: nesting cave. 1st: ignore that its owls. 2nd: its just a more visual rep of what caves will look like when they're dug into the tree trunk - would be lined with furs and such, sometimes treasures of their hoard. ice wyvern: nesting cave. the cave is really just a long stretch of ice tunnels above the adol cave. eggs are hidden in crevices - ice dragons being some the harshest parents and even harsher companions. there are holes every so often through the tunnel where adults dip in and out of, switching between the adols and eggs. ice wyvern: adol cave (again, pretend its underground). a mix of swooping arches, easy to perch upon as they crow and scream at the companions with wide areas to encompass the bulk of these wyverns. it's closed off everywhere but the entrance, like all adol caves, but unlike most it does open up to where the eggs are kept above. adols aren't allowed near eggs unattended and despite being family, an adult wyvern will not hesitate to throw them away and into the ice. fire wyvern: adol cave do you recognise it? its on site lmao anyway - there are a good few of these caves inside of a large cave filled with lava. is it safe for the young dragons? not at all. do the parents care? not really lmfao similar to ice wyverns, fire wyverns expect their young to be able to care for themselves. they will grow strong and powerful, if not then they will die. sucks to suck ig. fire wyvern: nesting cave pt2. there are however, stones like this spread through the cave. nests are often made atop them, stone melted with fire breath to form a dip for a dragon. they use the furs of their prey but also various bits of treasure - storm and fire dragons both fall into a more 'traditional' hoarding role when it comes to their nests. will be added to the front page! lmk if you have anymore ideas |
