Weather: Clear Skies Location: Front of dorm rooms - everyone has a room alone The eggs had finally stirred. There were four clutches, one with wyverns descended of fire, one of storm, one of ice and the last with water. Perhaps some of the most common clutches but it was certainly better than nothing. Night came and went, there was another arrival close to midnight but everything was sorted soon enough. So, who had arrived? Evangeline Avalonia - a smartly dressed girl who looks quite prepared to take on the world. She has a faint grey bond, barely there but noticeable when she first arrived. It had since faded, getting used to being around the same area as her future wyvern. While she does have an air of proudness, she seems like a kind soul. Maybe not to strangers, but certainly to those close to her. Ah. It seems that either the rest of the notes hadn't been answered or they had been delayed. Setting the small book of notes aside, Ilia glanced to the skies, wondering whether Kyrena was already out hunting. Looking back to the dorms they were headed to, a few lights were on already. That was good! She just wanted to introduce students to the area, let them see the place they would hopefully remain at for the next while. Hopefully Kyrena would return soon and the other wyverns would follow. She couldn't be too far after all, the bond was still a fairly dark shade. Well, better focus on meeting the students! They'd want a better greeting than a woman lost in her own head, not even thinking of the new arrivals. |

She had put on a proud facade, blocking out every emotion possible. She couldn't show any weakness, especially not in front of absolute strangers. She had been burned before when it came to trusting new people, ending in... total annihilation of her heart as well as her trust. She wondered what her brother, Eden, would think of her if he were still alive, probably chastise her for thinking his death was her fault. He would be wrong in saying it wasnt. When she got to her room, she collapsed on the bed. All of the indifference draining out of her. This was going to be quite a long stay, and most likely unpleasant depending on the other students. But what could she say? It was kind of thrilling to be here, as well as terrifying. |

Covering a yawn with the back of her hand, a young woman peered up at the mountains. The wind tossed her silver-streaked bangs into her green eyes; she used her other hand to tame them without a thought. She was following the flight pattern of a peregrine falcon until it was lost to even her sight. She was sitting against the rock, legs stretch out in front of her. Looking back in the direction of the dorms, she sighed. She was supposed to be over there, sleeping maybe. But she hadn't been able to sleep. The bed, although giant, seemed too...comfortable. It sounded stupid, but she wasn't used to that kind of pleasure. Little scraps of paper were held down a fists-sized rock she'd found early in the morning. Flapping in the wind, the papers had sketches of birds. With hooked beaks and sharp eyes, they were marked as birds of prey. Small notes were written roughly in her quick handwriting. Her hands, covered in pale scars from digging talons of excitable birds, found the amethyst pendant at her neck. The people at the front -- one of them she assumed was Ilia Farra, as the letter had said -- had not spoken to them much. Only to lead them to the dorms. That time was also the only time she had seen the other students. She herself had not spoken once. Only watched. Watched and listened. It was now morning -- close to 9 o'clock, she thought, looking at the sun. Maybe people would wake up by now. She'd slept, barely. Snatches of sleep as she stargazed and listened to the sounds of the night. Perhaps a full four hours. But she was fine with that. When she finally got pulled out of her thoughts, it was because her leg was falling asleep. Shaking the offending limb until it faded, she stretched her arms above her head. Time to wait. Silent. Like stalking a rabbit Sage had chased it out of its hiding spot. @〚 𝓫 𝓵 𝓮 𝓾 〛#75908 |

Caisin clutched the worn scrap of paper in his hands as he stared up at the large building ahead. The parchment now crumpled and ripped in places from how tightly he had gripped it. When his family first received the paper, none of them could quite process or believe what was written, his family being a long line of common farmers and hunters. None of them had been anybody important, needless to say, this letter was more than a shock. He was so giddy from excitement that his whole body was shaking despite his attempts to hide it. He had to get himself under control despite his eagerness. These were dragon trainers, and they picked him! They weren't looking for some overexcited children, but hardened and smart students. He knew the road would be hard and did not want to disappoint his future teachers. He was already off to a bad start, arriving a full night late. He had just come within the early hours of the morning, no doubt after all the other students had arrived and spent the night in their dorms. He shook his head, hoping to clear it of all his racing thoughts before taking a look at the note again, and heading inside the building. His first thoughts were to probably find the headmasters who sent the letters, and maybe settle into his new dorm before going off to meet the other students that the note had mentioned. |

This landscape was different to what he had known. New, frightening, exciting and full of unknowns. The mountains reached high and it was a little overwhelming to take in the fresh environment. This was somewhat of a second chance for him, one he would have to learn to accept. There were no more training wheels, no one to lean on full-heartedly, he was being thrown right into the deep end now. The dorm he would be staying in was nothing special, less was more after all and he wouldn't complain. A roof over his head was good enough than being left outside in the cold, dark elements. For once in Ori's scheduled and structured life, a twisting in his gut made it difficult to sleep. Maybe it was a mix of excitement and fear for the unknown challenges ahead. Thinking back on the fresh faces they'd briefly seen brought them some calm. New people to talk to, if Ori could seem less stuck up then he could get along with at least someone. He'd woken up as early as usual, as the sun rose so did he. There was some irony behind him. He spent the few free hours he had in his dorm room, familiarising himself with the space and becoming more settled before heading off. Today wasn't a day to be missed. |

After about 30 minutes, she decided she needed to get some air. On her way down, she avoided everyone she came across like they were infected with the plague. Every now and then she would itch at the two large scars on her back in the shapes of angel wings, that never really healed correctly and probably never would. Thank you, parents. She thought, sarcastically. She exited the school, seeing multiple people already outside and enjoying the fresh air. Her eyes scanned over them, trying to deduce if anyone here would possibly be a threat to her safety. Just in case, she kept her distance and sat in a far corner, laying back on the grass. Her orangeish eyes scanned the heavens, watching the clouds go by with rapt interest. Evangeline had always loved the sky, which is why she came when she got the letter. That, and to get away from her 'parents'. She started humming an old folk lullaby her aunt had sung to her and her brother as children. A pang of longing ran through her heart as she thought about the only members of her family that had ever showed her kindness, covering her face with her arm. "Shit.." She whispered, clenching her teeth. |

People were coming. She could hear their footsteps' vibrations in between her heartbeats. Nyx folded her legs up to her chest, quickly snatched the papers at her side, and hid them in the space that remained. She stayed perfectly still, trying to figure out who they might be. Three pairs of footsteps. Or was it two? It was hard to tell. Free one hand from her bundle of papers, she pressed it to the ground. Admittedly hard since it was stone rather than leaf-litter litter. It didn't work -- the maneuver was to find heaver prey, such as a deer. Maybe it was the stone? So, she could listen instead. She closed her eyes and focused. A steadily getting-louder tapping came with one, a cane, perhaps? The other came from the direction of the dorms. Nyx saw them, albeit they were blurry. Was that her name? Mm. She'd figure that out later. She came a tiny bit closer, then sat down, away from anyone. At some point in Nyx's quiet observation of the fellow student, the other covered her face with her arm. Was she crying? Don't care. The thought ripped through her mind like a snarl. She looked away. After a few minutes, she lost herself enough to whistle aloud. Although it sounded nice, it had a meaning. Another falconer might recognize it, though everyone's commands were slightly different. A call for a bird, Sage, was her name. A beautiful peregrine falcon. "Time to go home," it was named, a command to circle back. Time to go back home. . . Was she already homesick? Bullshit. It had to be. |

Well! A few people were awake, including Caisin, who had arrived late last night. Closer to morning really, she's barely made it out in time to open the gates and allow him entrance. A whistle cut through the air and the answering shape of a falcon soon made its way closer. That was Nyx. What was her falcon's name? Ah, she'd find out later. Finally reaching the dorms, she knocked on the main door. It might be a bit faint to anyone in their dorms but Ilia would rather not wake anyone too early... not that it was terribly early. The dorms were set up with two kitchens either side of the main entrance, 2 rooms on the ground floor either side with stairs leading up to the other 10 rooms. It wasn't set up to split boys and girls right away, only meant to offer a variety of rooms with a decent amount of space, just incase someone would rather stick to a mostly girls side or anything. The headmaster turned away from the dorm rooms, gaze once again returning to the skies but quickly moving on. People were rather spread out... likely exploring what they could. She began to cross the grass, moving closer to Caisin. He'd had a long journey.... wingbeats! Kyrena was coming back! They were faint but after so long together, you did grow to know the sound. The black and red wyvern reached the peak of the mountain, tail shifting as she realigned to catch the warmer gusts of air. A beat passed and she finally tilted her wings downwards, sailing to the valley. There was a clear enough space near Ilia and as the wyvern grew closer she let a loud rumble of greeting. Ilia stepped back slightly, wondering if that was why she hadn't landed as usual, but Kyrena did another circle, gazing at the students. They all smelled different. Odd, in a place of general routine but she trusted Ilia. She trusted the unhatched eggs that had finally shifted, growing deeper with the colour of their abilities and responding to the closeness of their future bonds. If all went well, of course. |
