FERNSHADE—WARRIOR—SHE/HER— LOCATION: TERRITORYFernshade bolted after the brown patchy she-cat, a excitable purr in her chattering as she followed, making sure to go just slightly slower so Fadedpaw would win. It was nice being nice. "Good job!" she chirped to the medicine cat apprentice when she stopped, before scanning the lush forest for anything of value. Nothing looked special. if anything, grass looked like a healing herb. "Heatherstump, anything in particular i should be using?" She mewed as she followed Fadedpaw to the cattail, sniffing it, and prodding it with a paw. " i think they're called cattails, but i dunno if that's what you use them for." |

Newpaw-Apprentice-She/her-Location: CampNewpaw did her best to listen carefully and when Snowwhisper had finished, she nodded in understanding. She watched her mentor for a few moments so that she could then copy his movements herself. She poured herself into the work, carefully removing the reeds and placing them in piles so that they could carry them back for the dens when they had finished. As she worked, she let her thoughts roam and then she turned to Snowwhisper curiously. "Snowwhisper, do you think Starclan will come back?" She mewed softly, anxiety in her tone. She had heard some of the older cats talking about their missing ancestors and they hadn't sounded very optimistic. Stormclaw-Warrior-He/him-Location: Camp EntranceStormclaw thought quietly for a moment before shaking his head. "Not anywhere in particular, but I think I remember seeing a stream nearby when we first arrived in our new territory." The tom meowed thoughtfully. He watched as Crowheart and Firewhisper left the camp and he looked to Amberblaze. "I guess we should get going then." He told them. He knew that the patrol would be rather difficult because it seemed like there was a lot of tension amongst the cats gathered, but hopefully all five could put aside their differences in order to do what was best for the clan. |

Amberblaze - Warrior - She/they - Location: Camp entranceAmberblaze moved as the two former Shadowclan cats made their way out of the camp and offered a nod to Stormclaw. "We could check the stream, maybe grab a drink before we move on. It'll let us see if there's fish in the stream as well," Amberblaze finished. Their paws carried her out of camp behind the other cats, Otterslip having gone off a bit ahead of her. The terrain wasn't terribly unfamiliar from what she had once known, but the land was still eerily unfamiliar. "Leave the moss Crowheart. If you insist on scraping it all up at least do so a bit further from the camp, and you could always bring some back for bedding. No point in just tearing it up for nothing," Amberblaze noted. |

Fadedpaw - MCA - she/they - Location: Camp EntranceFadedpaw shook her head, this was smaller, green, with white flowers on it. "No no, I know cattails, they're taller and closer to the lake. These ones I've seen a few times before." She studied it, getting closer and sniffing it. The name was failing to her, and she thought hard, squeezing her eyes shut, muttering to herself. "Catweed, cat.. Aha!" She sprouted up, looking at Fernshade with light in her eyes. "Catchweed, it's catchweed!" She looked back at Heatherstump. "Oh, we can use these! I just know they'll come of use!" Snowwhisper - Warrior - he/him - Location: CampHe ripped up another bundle of reeds, and placed them down. He went in for another, but froze at the question. Do you think Starclan will come back? Honestly, he wasn't sure of the answer. The stars had vanished, StarClan was missing. Before the clan could wonder if they would come back, they'd have to figure out where they went, and why. Why had they left them? He opened his mouth to speak, but his voice got stuck in his throat. He was sure Newpaw could see his hesitancy, wanting to assure the apprentice, but he didn't know how. "I don't know, Newpaw. I... I hope they will." And the words he left unspoken died in his throat; what in the name of the Dark Forest would they do without them? |

He glanced around, spotting a dandelion growing in a tuft of grass. "Here, FadedPaw, can you tell me what that plant is and how its used?" He hoped she could remember this one from their lessons, it was one of the things he had to use more often for kits and warriors alike. Beestings. He watched her as he gestured to the plant. |

Whitepaw was Storting the usable reeds from the bad ones. He had tried to help sure, but after the second time he fell into the lake he was regulated to sorting weeds. It wasn't his fault that he hadn't been properly instructed by snowwhisper Who wasn't even his mentor anyway. He paced in a circle, grumbling to himself. These thunder clan cats were all the same. He sat down and began to lick his ruffled chest fur. |

FERNSHADE—WARRIOR—SHE/HER— LOCATION: TERRITORY"Oh yeah.. Catchweed. I knew that. Just testing, y'know." She squinted, feeling hot under her pelt that she couldn't tell a water-plant from a land one. Angry with herself, she sniffed the grass halfheartedly, searching for anything of value, before catching a slightly sweet tang on her tongue. Nose to the earth, she followed the trail, before finding a dour green bramble with shiny, bright red berries. They looked inviting, and the little seeds inside the holes of each berry likely were useful too. Is it some kind of juniper berry subspecies? I'm sure Heatherstump could make good use of them. and so Fernshade picked a deathberry branch, without any idea what she was doing. She trot back to Heatherstump and Fadedpaw, where the former was quizzing Fadedpaw on the use of dandelion. "Hey, 'heather, i found some nice looking berries eastward. Are they useful at all?" she wrinkled her muzzle at the slightly bitter tang of the branch, careful to not crush any of the berries in her jaws. She wouldn't want to waste precious herbs. |

HeatherStump - Medicine Cat - He/They - Location: TerritoryThe tom turned around at his name, which was said quite informally but that didnt matter. As soon as he saw the branch in her jaws and the deadly berries hanging from it, terror filled his eyes. "FernShade. Put that down. Immediately." He said frantically, "and dont let the berry juice get in your mouth." She wasn't dead yet, which meant she hadn't eaten a berry. If she had, she would be dead in seconds. Tension wracked his muscles as he stared at her, but seemed to barely see her. He remembered the last time he'd seen someone eat those berries, his littermate, Grasskit. She was so young, and their parents were so inattentive that she had gotten into some on accident. His heart ached as he tried to put himself back in the moment. |

FERNSHADE—WARRIOR—SHE/HER— LOCATION: TERRITORYShe dropped the branch impulsively, bristling with shock, the rattle of the branch against the grass ragged. Fernshade growled nervously, "Hrrmm? Why? I..oh." She stared down at the berries, remembering a saying from her kit days. "Never eat red berries. They might be deathberries, and they'll kill you faster then a mouse can sprint." "AAAH!" She jumped back, panting. "W-Oh! Oh no, Heatherstump, i totally forgot! I'm sorry, i'm so sorry! I- Did i eat any?" The last question was mostly rhetorical, she knew she hadn't. Her legs trembled, unsheathing her claws. "i'm so sorry, i didn't realize…i-.." |

Whitepaw-apprentice-he him- campWhitepaw's head jerked up. It seemed he had fallen asleep. Ugh now his face was wet and disgusting. There had been a bog near the old shadowclan camp but it had never smelled this bad. He had just started to wash his ears, wincing at the bitter taste before he heard a yowl from the other end of camp. |
