@Quailbristle Lost listened intently as Quailbristle explained their clanmates, head nodding up and down in an eager manner. If there was one thing Lost loved more than exploring and meeting new cats, it was information. Truly, you could never have too much of it, at least in Lost's eyes you couldn't. "Wow, all these warriors seem amazing! I'm glad you have such a great family to depend on" Lost purrs, genuinely happy for the tabby. A part of Lost wanted to talk to Quailbristle about their old group as well; Scarlet's sharp wit, Qunicy's thirst for adventure, Moth's constant bouncing around. But Lost didn't want to interrupt the warrior, not when the things she was sharing were so interesting. That, and what would be the point of talking positively about their old group? They were gone. Though maybe Lost could tell Quailblaze about Scarlet? She seemed awfully similar to this "Minkfur". Scarlet. Mousedung. Lost still hasn't visited her grave due to how close the camp smelled to it. A burning tide of guilt washed over the loner. How rude of me not to visit her…. She must be lonely! "Huh, perhaps… I wonder why they just started appearing now?" Lost muses to themselves. "Although, I mostly stay in my burrow, so it would make sense for them not to bother me if I'm constantly in the same place and not spreading my scent…. I don't leave at night either." Lost could make a thousand excuses about why they hated nighttime, but simply put? It was like Lost was back in that moment two seasons ago, dogs running at their family, Scarlet yelling at Lost to run, the mangled yelps coming from the group. It was as if those dogs were surrounding Lost every time they went out, even if they were not physically there. Hearing Quailbristles reveal of them having to leave, Lost tilts their head to the side in a manner that Quailbristle has probably gotten used to by now; like a confused kitten. Why did the warrior want them to come? Didn't he say that the clan wouldn't like them? Although…. It would give Lost peace of mind to know their new acquaintance would be home safe. Plus, they would be around camp so they could visit Scarlet! Standing up and stretching, Lost mewls cheerfully "Of course. I wouldn't want your clan to worry." After stretching, they start moving in the direction of the Stormclan camp at a slow pace so Quailbristle could easily follow them through the dense undergrowth that surrounds them. Minkfur- She/Her - Elder @Blizzardwhisker Minkfurs eyes jolt open and her body stiffens as she feels something press against her for a moment. Jerking her head over, she relaxes when she sees it's just Blizzardwhisker. A soft smile crosses the elders face. Making sure the deaf senior can see her mouth, Minkfur slowly says "It will heal, no need to worry too much. How are you holding up?" Minkfur didn't really know how to sign, so she hoped her words were clear enough. Minkfur motions to the ground next to her with a nod, inviting the old warrior to rest with her. Minkfur held a large amount of respect for the former Windclan warrior. Both of them had to work harder than the average cat to prove their worth, something they should have never had to do in the first place. Of course, Minkfur had her hearing, but she could empathize with Blizzardwhiskers determination and felt a kinship. |

Succulentnettle - she/her - Location: Medicine Cat Den@Ivyshade, Fadedpaw Succulentnettle watched as Ivyshade fell, it was too sudden to catch her. She was about to rush over to help once she realized what had happened but the mostly white cat had already gotten up again. At least if you can get up maybe you'll be okay? She thought, not saying this aloud. Succulentnettle heard her comment about foxes, but was too worried about the rain-eyed cat to answer. She swiftly stepped closer so Ivyshade could continue to lean on her. She watched as the multicolored brown medicine cat apprentice Fadedpaw stopped treating the senior white cat Blizzardwhisker and looked over at them. Succulentnettle was about to explain the situation as Fadedpaw padded over to her and Ivyshade and began to ask a flurry of questions, but before she had figured out the words to respond to those questions, Ivyshade went first. She listened as Ivyshade weakly answered, fearfully watching as she noticed Ivyshade's neck begin to bleed more. Once Ivyshade stopped talking, Succulentnettle watched for a moment hoping she'd be okay before answering. She didn't have much to say, so she began to explain what she knew. "I was hunting, and I ran over to her when I heard her cry but Ivyshade was already quite hurt.." Succulentnettle looked away, doing her best to remain happy and sound cheerful but her gaze revealed she was worried for this cat she barely knew. "That fox we fought was rather strong, I hope there is not any more nearby." Succulentnettle said, looking behind them at the trail of blood the 2 had made on the ground. Is that thorn still in my paw? She thought, looking down and seeing the thorn in her back left paw had now torn a gash in her foot creating quite a lot of blood - but that was small in comparison to her other injuries, and extremely minor in comparison to the state Ivyshade was in. Succulentnettle decided if Ivyshade was this hurt, then there was no way she could hunt. And if there were lots of cats in the medicine cat den, they'll need food if they can't catch it by themselves. "I can wait until you finish treating the other cats, I need to go back to hunting to get more food for the clan." |

@lost "yeah, they are lovely." quailbristle sighs, and glances over to the calico, curious. They looked antsy, as if they wanted to tell Quailbristle something, but he couldn't quite put his paw on what. "My uncle Mousecatcher was really friendly, and loved teaching me about hunting. He taught me some of the hunting techniques i know today." He thought fondly of his dilute calico kin, a grizzled, shy, odd fellow of a ramcat, but good natured and always patient with Quailbristle, especially when he was mourning Robinflutter, his father. Robinflutter was always a bit hard on Quailbristle, but that didn't mean he didn't love him, and Mousecatcher was the complete opposite to his brother. Quailbristle hoped he hadn't been injured too badly in the fight. "I think they've always been here, you're just really lucky. We're all a big group, you know. I wish i was alone like you, maybe i wouldn't be so beat up." She barks a breathless, dreadful laugh and pushes herself to her paws, wincing as a scab on her leg tore from the effort. She licks it once, twice, and stares out at the lakeside for a moment, rubbing the hare's skull mindlessly. "What was your group like? What..what happened to them?" Quailbristle flicks his tail along Lost's side as a thank you, and diverges the other way, digging up the squirrel and mouse he had caught and tossing them over his shoulder to cargo. The walk is fairly brisk, and eventually Quailbristle can see the outline of the bramble wall in the distance. He turns to Lost and rubs his muzzle against the jack's neck as a farewell, and also to take in their scent so he'd remember it. Mouth slightly agape, he meows, "Thanks for letting me hang with you! That rabbit was delicious. I hope we can meet again soon?" asks the tabby, clearly trying to imply they arrange a meeting sometime. blizzardwhisker — she/her — deaf @minkfur Blizzardwhisker sits down beside Minkfur, ruffling her white pelt when her bristled blue tabby fur rubs against her softer flank. She lays her head on her paws and watches Minkfur, and while grateful for the she-cat making sure she was angled in a way to where Blizzardwhisker could see her face, she had trouble catching on to what she said at first— the elder was speaking a bit too fast for her. "how are you" is a simple, commonly repeated sentence, and she understands it well, so she assumes that Minkfur was getting along alright and was asking how she was doing. Noting the tabby's lack of signing, Blizzardwhisker assumes that she doesn't understand paw motions, and she opts to speak instead. "S'all right, i guess. I have a bad sscar here." She rolls to her side so Minkfur could see the snaking scar on her belly. "But it'll heal. Could you talk slower?" |

@Quailbristle Lost smiles as the tabby tells him about his uncle, and her theories about why these "nightwalkers" haven't bothered them. Lost visibly stiffens when Quailbristle asks the question about their group. Would it even be okay to tell the stranger about it? However…. Quailbristle did ask them. And maybe it would be good to tell them in case those dogs ever became a threat again. Letting out a soft sigh, Lost gently says "We can walk and talk about it, yeah?" Mainly because if they were walking and talking, Lost wouldn't have to maintain eye contact with the warrior, hopefully avoiding any sense of pity. Breathing in as they start the short trek to where Quailbristle's camp lay, Lost begins to talk, trying their best to focus on not tearing their twoleg pelt rather than the subject matter that came out of their mouth. "So um…. It was near the end of Rising Season when we came into this area. We were just planning on passing through really…. We heard that a warmer place was beyond the mountains and wanted to stay a bit for the Sun Season." Lost and Quailbristle take a slight detour, the tabby's fluffy tail brushing against their pelt temporarily calming them against the difficult topic. "We decided to stay by a small clearing close to the lake…. Not too far from where we are actually. But it turns out that a pack of these huge, gray dogs were hunting us." Lost scoffs. They were the scout of the group, they should have picked up their scent. Maybe then things could have been different. Maybe Scarlet would still be around. "They ambushed us in the night….. Tried to get to me first, but my mo-" Lost pauses and clears their throat before continuing, "My friend Scarlet intervened to protect me. She told me to run and….and I did." Lost's voice drips with grief. How could they have been so cowardly, so weak? "When I came back the next morning…. She wasn't breathing. And I couldn't find anyone else from my group, dead or alive." Lost can't bring themselves to even look up, focusing on the dying pine needle crunching underneath their paws. "I… I waited here for about a season before realizing my group wasn't coming back for me. I dug a burrow and… well, here we are, two seasons later." Realizing the damper they put on the mood and that Quailbristle probably didn't need more glumness, they glance up and meet the tabby's gaze. "It's okay though! Heh…. staying here isn't horrible, there's food and water and uh…. Spiders? Yeah, the spiders are cute heheh." Lost's habit of nervous laughing comes out in full force. Gosh Lost, you're embarrassing yourself! Lost's skin warms as Quailbristle rubs their muzzle against the exposed pelt of their neck. "Yes, I think meeting again would be lovely! When would you like to meet aga-" Lost abruptly stops as the camp comes into view. Lost sits down suddenly, anxiety flooding their brain. This camp…. It was Scarlet's clearing. Blood stains were all about the space, one of them directly on Scarlets grave. Lost doesn't know whether to laugh or cry at the scene. So they just stare blankly at the camp, ears flattened and eyes widened in fear. They couldn't visit Scarlet anymore. Couldn't honor her. Minkfur- She/Her- Elder @Blizzardwhisker Minkfur winces as she sees the scar. Making sure to talk slower so her fellow senior can understand, she mewls "Well, that's always a good thing... wouldn't do to have one of our best warriors too beat up huh?" Minkfur lets out a loud, rumbling purr. "And apologies... actually, I wouldn't mind if you taught me how to sign some time?" |

Cloversong-Warrior-She/her-Location: Med. Den@Little Brown, Minkfur, Blizzardwhisker Cloversong purred drowsily at the kit's declaration. "I'm sure you will, Little Brown. You're very brave and strong." She listened as the kit played, chasing something around. She laid her head on her paws with a small sigh. Even though she had lost her sight, perhaps her life still held purpose. Minkfur was a cat she could get along with, maybe even be friends with as she eased into retirement in the coming days. The black furred she-cat was purposefully ignoring the fact that this may truly be their last day, she wanted to focus on the positive. Another thing that occurred to her was that Little Brown was going to need a cat to look after him in a sense, at least until he became an apprentice. The blind warrior wondered who Applestar would choose to mentor the youngest member of the Clan. She pricked her ears at the sound of approaching pawsteps, and she caught Blizzardwhisker's scent. She followed the conversation as best she could, though sleep seemed to be calling her name and it was almost as appealing as a freshly caught rabbit. Her favorite prey. Stormclaw-He/him-Location: Camp@Amberblaze Stormclaw flicked his ear, eyes narrowed in disbelief at Amberblaze's claim about being okay. Her ear looked rather disgruntled and he felt a flicker of guilt within his chest for not fighting beside them during the battle. Though he was just grateful that she had made it out alive, he couldn't bear the thought of losing another cat he cared for. When the chocolate tabby began to apologize, the silver tom's eyes began to glisten with sorrow. He gave a small dismissive shake of his head to show he held no grudge against them. "There was nothing any cat could have done... I suppose it was the will of Starclan... and she's with our parents now." Stormclaw murmured halfheartedly, sounding as though he were trying to convince himself of this. Starclan... their starry ancestors were more confusing than ever before, and it didn't help that his faith in them was now shaken like a leaf in a storm. He blinked slowly, drawing himself back into the present moment with Amberblaze. Now was not the time to be distracted. "No, I should be the one apologizing, I should have stayed here. It was wrong of me to go charging after the Nightwalkers. I should have stayed to help my clan..." The big silver tom meowed. I should have stayed to make sure you were okay. He thought quietly, not wanting to verbalize it and potentially cause a rift between them. Newpaw-She/her-Location: Camp@Snowwhisper Newpaw had been listening to her brother's ramblings halfheartedly, her thoughts distracting her from fully comprehending what Littlepaw was saying. Though a familiar snowy pelt caught her attention and her eyes widened with joyous surprise to see Snowwhisper leaving the medicine den. She excused herself from her family and bounded over to see the tom, careful not to bump into him. She stopped in front of him and purred happily. Despite all the traumatic events that had occurred, she was feeling grateful. Perhaps it was naive of her, but she didn't care. "It's good to see you on your paws." She meowed. The small apprentice followed his gaze towards their fallen clanmates and her optimism slowly diminished. Sorrow washed over her at the realization that they had been alive, been talking and enjoying life, not even a day prior. And now they were gone. "They should still be here..." Newpaw murmured softly. |

@lost quailbristle glances over to Lost, and nearly takes a branch to the face because of it. She ducks in the nick of time, and brushes her spine over the rumpled bark, effectively doing nothing but feeling nice, but Quailbristle could use some satisfaction now. She wasn't looking forward to heading home in the slightest, but she had to eventually. She notices the way the calico stiffens, the creases of their skin pulling, and she meaows, "You don't gotta share if you don't wanna." But Lost suggests they 'walk-and-talk' so she takes that as them starting their story, and she falls silent, eyes focusing on them dodging branches. "hmm." Quailbristle blinks a few times at the new words. Rising Season, Sun Season? Well, it wasn't this season, of course. Sun Season could clearly be greenleaf. So Rising must be Newleaf! He did a little bounce in satisfaction at figuring out Lost's naming of the four seasons. "dogs!" Quailbristle echoes, and she growls as she sees the unpleasant expression that crosses over Lost's face. "I've never seen a dog, but i know what they look like. Big, lean things with long snouts and sharp teeth. I never want to meet one." she feels a bit guilty blabbering over Lost's story, and she falls quiet, and keeps her eyes on the camp approaching with each pawstep. He stiffens as Lost's story grew dark, telling of the pack that amubushed their group and killed them. He winces, and hesitates for a moment, before touching his nose to their shoulder in comforting gesture. "I'm sorry, Lost." The calico is quick to change the subject, talking about spiders or whatnot. Quailbristle's mind wants them to keep prying, but for this poor loner's sake she holds back. "i like spiders." Lost's laugh is cute, but the worry in their voice makes it feel dreadful rather then warm. "How about three sunrises from now, at sunhigh? i'll be by the lakeshore, where you live." Quailbristle knew it'd be a little while— StormClan needed to recover and find the Sun's Garden. Lost's face, which looks a bit tragic, makes her stop, and she frowns. "what's,, what's wrong? Not that sad to see me go, right?" Blizzardwhisker — she/her — deaf @Minkfur "ha!" blizzardwhisker catches on to best warriors getting hurt and barks a laugh, and turns to groom the blood from her belly. "ss.speak for yourself Minkfur. You're strong. And fierce." Her whiskers twitch and she smiles. "I'd like to. We can start." |

Amberblaze - warrior - they/she - camp@/Stormclaw The tabby brushed her head against Stormclaw's cheek. "It's alright. I understand. I just wish I could've done more, for everyone. I couldn't go with.." they stammered a bit, "I could barely stand. I'm just glad you came back." Their eyes shone with moisture as they looked at Stormclaw. All they wanted to do was to share prey with him, to relax and chatter about happier things, but that wasn't what their reality allowed. In all honestly, Amberblaze was just thrilled that Stormclaw had returned alive, and it was great that none of his injuries seemed to be too serious. "I'm glad you're alright. The medicine cats did tell you that you'd be okay right??" Lilacivy - deputy - he/him - lake@/Breammist He was initially worried by Breammist's words, but her purring reassured him that he had not said anything wrong. It was cute, he thought, to hear her excitement in such an unbridled way. "I am sure he will be willing once all of this calms down. He's a level-headed fella," he got closer and whispered, "sometimes a little soft from what I've seen and heard." He offered a gentle smile as he backed away. Surely there would be some gathering about what had been found on the "patrols" tirade, and Lilacivy thought it would be best to wait until everything had been addressed. His stomach tensed at the thought of seeing all of the injured cats gathered together. It would show just how much they had lost during the prior night. |

Fadedpaw - MCA - she/they - Location: Medicine Den@Ivyshade, Succulentnettle Her eyes widened as Ivyshade recounted what happened, Succulentnettle adding her details. A fox? She thought, what more could the clan take. She'd have to tell Applestar after she helps them. Ivyshade pointed out her wounds, coughing roughly as she did. "Let's stop the bleeding and bandage it before we take those splinters out." Fadedpaw says, when Succulentnettle said she'd leave. "No! No, you stay here. Let me treat her neck, then I'll get you." She eyed the thorn that was stuck in the older cat's paw, blood oozing from it. "Then I can help you with that thorn." Then she looked up, meeting her eye. "Let someone else hunt, I don't want you getting more hurt than you have to, ok?" Snowwhisper - Warrior - he/him - Location: Camp@Newpaw His eyes were caught on the lifeless body of his mother, laying there, unmoving with the others. His body was aching, and he could still feel his left paw that had been there not even a full day ago, trying to use it, but there was nothing. He was shaken when a small cat bounded up to him, stopping in her tracks before she could crash into him. Newpaw looked up at him, a soft purr could be heard. She meowed out a statement, and he responded with a weak "yeah" as his eyes panned over to his mother again, and the others piled around her. He could feel Newpaw's attitude change, and he looked back down to her, as her eyes were now on the deceased warriors. "They should still be here..." She meowed, and he hummed in agreement. He stood up, hissing in pain. "There's... There's nothing we can do now." He responds in full, his voice pained, heart aching along with his body. Last night should never have happened. |

@Quailbristle "Not that sad to see me go, right?" Quailbristles' joke falls on deaf ears as Lost stares in disbelief. They knead their paws on the ground, another nervous habit the calico did often. It takes a moment for it to sink in; The clan cats didn't like them. If they don't like them, they won't be allowed into the camp. It's a situation most unfavorable. "I-I, Scarlet is, she's, ground, buried…" The words tumble incoherently out of the jack's mouth for a good moment before they regain some sense of calm via closing their eyes and breathing deeply. It was an exercise Scarlet had taught them. Finally being able to mumble out an understandable sentence, Lost turns to meet Quailbrsitles eyes reluctantly. "That…. The clearing your in…. It's the clearing I was speaking about earlier." Lost stares blankly at the dried blood spotting the ground. "Did… did those Nightwalkers do this?" Minkfur- She/Her- Warrior @Blizzardwhisker Mink gives her fellow senior a toothy grin, clearly pleased to be learning Blizzardwhiskers strange signing. The compliment was a nice touch, though if Minkfur was being honest it was something the blue tabby heard often enough that the flare of pride that came with it had dulled to a weak flicker. Even so, Minkfur appreciated it coming from Blizzardwhisker. Minkfur nods and settles in, focusing on what the deaf cat has to teach her. Breammist- She/Her- Warrior @Lilacivy Breammist lets out a soft purr at Lilacivy's comment on Applestar. "A welcome change, really. Shadowclan was pretty harsh, I wouldn't be against having a kind leader to guide us." She absentmindedly swishes her tail back and forth, back and forth. Even if Applestar was soft, would that be okay? She had already heard murmurings of former Shadowclan cats calling their new leader "soft" and "weak." Breammist had grown up hearing those words pretty often and felt sympathy for the ginger tom. Maybe being weak wasn't as horrible as other cats say. |

BroccoliStump ~ He/Him ~ Warrior@Featherspire, Treepaw, and anyone who sees them BroccoliStump's attention is caught as soon as he sees the medicine cat with his daughter. He knows TreePaw doesn't talk to other cats often, so just seeing her with FeatherSpire was enough of a bell-ring for him. He looks at FeatherSpire and tilts his head a little, and a gentle barely noticeable purr rests in his throat at the respect the med cat shows. "What might it be . . .?" he looks at TreePaw, who still had a joyful glint in her eye from just meeting her lost mother. "It's someone i think you'll be happy to meet." He steps forward at his kit's words, nodding slightly. "Alright." it normally took a lot more for him to trust other cats. Even the medicine cat would normally have to coax him into taking any herbs, but with his daughter there, he wasn't worried. TreePaw ~ She/Her ~ Apprentice@FeatherSpire, BroccoliStump, anyone who sees them TreePaw watches her mother disapear with a longling look before she slips back into camp, following FeatherSpire as they lead her to the large male known as her father. She wishes there wearn't other clan members around, simply because she wanted to talk with her father about her mother. Oh the stories he's already told, and oh the stories they'll(hopefully) be able to make! "It's someone i think you'll be happy to meet." TreePaw mews in a hushed voice, not wishing to attract the attention of other cats. |
